Every time I listen to Cowherd, I feel dumber. I'm thankful for a job that doesn't give me the ability to hear his whiny, self-indulgent and shrill voice.
I was at the South Regional in Houston in 2010. Awful atmosphere for basketball, and the court was too far away to see. I mostly watched the big screens. I also learned that the reputation of Duke fans as stuck up and obnoxious is well deserved.
Where on the East Coast?
I live in Nashville, and I lived in Vero Beach, FL for the title game losses to UF. I like 2015 much better.
I just emailed this article to some of my SEC co-workers :)
SEC fans have to brag on Alabama. What can most of them brag about with their own programs?
Sugar Bowl. I've been saying it felt like catharsis for two months. The National Title game was great, but it was confirmation of what happened against Bama.
Way to go J.W. Nicklaus!
I've been told the same lies. The SEC crowd here is weird; it seems like everyone's second favorite team is Vandy. Except for the bitter UT fans, of course. I just like cheering for the CSA's most hated team.
As a Nashville resident, I fully endorse this statement. I know many Bama football fans who conveniently root for UK basketball...
Good. I can't root for scUM to win this match. A close loss is ok
Big results so far with Iowa losing in the consolations. They are running short on opportunities to catch the Buckeyes. Bo Jordan winning third would really help the cause.
This would be incredible, but I'm leaving thoughts of a title for tomorrow. A couple wins tomorrow morning from Bo Jordan and Kenny Courts could be very helpful. And as a former wrestler and current coach, I'll definitely be watching.
Congratulations Nut! Keep it up!!!
1. Indict Haslam so he can't interfere in the Draft.
2. Best player available with every pick (too many holes to focus on specific needs).
My best friend and I were sitting in that end zone in the second deck, right above the student section. We spent the entire 85 yards yelling "Run to us!!!" When he scored, I ran up and down the aisle, hugging my new friends. I was celebrating so much, I missed the two point conversion and had to find it on you tube a few days later.
Thank you Curt. Go Bucks! I hoped to make the trip up from Nashville this weekend, but I have a flight to Vegas tomorrow. It would be nice to get that first title since 1951, but it sounds like the real focus of the team is using this week to set up for the NCAA's in two weeks. Is that a fair assessment?
I've been an Ohio State fan as long as I can remember, and a fan of all three Cleveland teams as well. But when I was very little, I loved the showtime Lakers, as all the NBA I would watch was the Finals, and it was either the Lakers or Celtics. But I became a Cavs fan about 1988. I became a Browns and Indians fan around the same time (1986-87), but I would watch the Reds on WTTE a lot, as they used to air an occasional game. And there is a picture of me wearing a Steeler uniform for Halloween when I'm 4 or 5. I need to burn that one! :) But since then, I've had other teams I'll root for, but none have become a favorite (Cubs from watching WGN after school while doing homework, Vikings from a couple college buddies). I feel my allegiance shifting to the Predators from the Blue Jackets, as I live in Nashville and go to quite a few games and watch a lot on TV. But they'd probably just become a co-favorite with the CBJ.
1A) Cleveland Indians: The older I get, the more I love baseball. Some of my best memories are going to games with my dad. And I love listening to Tom Hamilton call a game.
1B) Ohio State Football: My first true sports love. Seeing those shiny helmets and the bright scarlet jerseys is a beautiful sight.
1C) Cleveland Browns: Family heritage. Usually requires copious amounts of beer to handle nowadays.
1D) Ohio State Basketball: Watched since I was six. My dad has told many stories about Fred Taylor and his great teams.
5) Cleveland Cavaliers: Been a fan since the late 1980's, even when most of the kids my age were cheering for Jordan and the Bulls.
6) Columbus Blue Jackets: Attending games since the inaugural year.
7) Aston Villa
8) Columbus Crew
9) Ohio State Wrestling: former high school wrestler and now a middle school coach, so I follow the sport as much as I can.
10) Nashville Predators: lived here for three years now and this is the only local team I've adopted.
11+) Various secondary teams I've semi-followed over the years (Reds, Cubs, Vikings, Titans, Lakers, and several other college FB and BB teams).
"80's movie slow clap" for you Tennesseebuckeye11! As a fellow resident of Tennessee (Nashville), and a former resident of Florida during the debacle in the desert, I agreed wholeheartedly with what you wrote! I've used the word catharsis to describe the Sugar Bowl, and I still feel that way 6 weeks or so after,
Northbrook, you made me laugh with that one! I should have been more specific: Middle School wrestling.
History teacher and MS wrestling coach. Studying to be an administrator as well.
