Kudos to you , MAVBuck! Well said! Now is just so much the wrong time to question this for the exact reasons that you stated. I am not worried or questioning it at all. Welcome him aboard. He is a Buckeye now, and he also has Ohio links. I think it will turn out well and wish the seat he is taking here wouldn't be hot already before he even gets here. Give him a chance just like Meyer whole-heartedly did.
It would be cool if we could take advantage when they drop their nose guard back and get Eze through that hole.
Yeah. Worried about h-h too. And worried about CJ always wanting to hurdle the defenders. He is taking too much risk. Great highlight play when it works, but I don't want that highlight to be him on the turf with an injury. Wish these guys would work more on the stiff arm, because it can be so effective.
The thing that worries me the most is turnovers. Did you see that video? They obviously put a lot of practice into stripping the ball. He pulled the ball out of the ball carriers hands and had complete control of it right away , way before he hit the ground. Eze and Jalin especially need to watch out for this. They will try hard to do this and if it works it will get in their heads and affect their performances.
He plays kool
Haterz gonna hate no matter what. Screw them. More film study that leads to plays like Miller's pick-six would be awesome.
We deserve more practice because of all the backups we now are training as starters. No, really we don't because they are great already. But I will use it as an excuse. Got the hours, might as well use them. Go Bucks!
Also heavy on the focus on family. Win
Uplifting, filled with morals and overcoming adversity, yet not too much to hype them up for a roller-coaster of emotions. Play it over and over and they hear it, get a consistent, positive vibe in the sub- conscious but also tune it out for the most part to keep focus on the training and repititions they need. Seems like a good idea.
And intercept him in truly heartbreak moments. Like at the 5 yard line and have a 95 yard pick-six. Those are the plays that really get in their mind.
I do not hope they suck royally. I hope they are dynamic and look very good in the game overall, but we keep overcoming the adversity with brilliant plays and great playcalling and team play and we still win by 2 touchdowns.
SLOW-hio comments should stop now. It is officially nonsense. LOL
Perhaps he wanted to make sure it wasn't an incomplete pass with the clock stopping and giving them another try
Well they probably will each claim a NC for this season still
yes, but that makes it an incomplete pass which stops the clock
?... Silver bullets are back and bottling up Heisman candidates well, but I am guessing somehow you figure you could do better? He seems to be working well with Ash to me. Urban seems to be growing more fond of him... Never mind... Some people are calling Meyer an idiot for just one play when the game planning overall was brilliant and got us a huge win over a team most said we had no chance against and got us in the NC. Some people do not know how to be happy and can't comprehend progress. Have a great day and a happy new year....somehow
Me too. I don't want predictable (Bollman) playcalling. I like the message this sends and our odds at the time.
Yup. Definitely no "clown show" now!! Our receivers have got some great hands this year! Amazing catches. It must be rubbing off on our defensive backfield too because they seem to be a lot better at int's than past years.
Are our linemen taking quarterback reps too?:)... hell, wasn't it Baylor that had a 400lb lineman get a receiving touchdown?
Jalin Marshall is #4. Put him at #5 to save Collier's redshirt?
I would guess so if we didn't want to burn Collier's redshirt. Think Darron Lee was a good qb in high school too, but probably not versed in the playbook
I was always and still am a huge supporter of Tressel because, well, the results speak for themselves for the most part. He had a huge amount of success. As time went on, like most fans it seems, I got weary of the overly conservative offense and other teams seeming to know what play we were going to run. I got tired of us running up the middle for 2 yards 30 times a game( yes I know that wasn't true just seemed like it at times.) He was a genius by controlling the clock and keeping the ball when we had it and moved the chains. Predictability was such a curse though at times and less and less fun to watch. Wish this play could have worked or been a bit different since it didn't. But I am so excited that our coaches will go against the predictable play calling and that they are giving Oregon that impression too so they are unsure of themselves on what their defense should set up for. We cannot be successful on every play. We will not know if a play will get a td. If this one had, it would have iced the game. And if it didn't, Bama, with still not a ton of time, had to hope they could get a td and extra point to tie. or maybe risk a 2 pt.to win or lose. Took a chance with odds in our favor overall. I am not too bothered by the call to be honest.
Something shocking me right now as I watch the Div III national championship is that these coaches haven't moved up to being co-ordinators in Div I. The Mount Union Purple Raiders and Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks have both been unbelievable, dominating their opponents for a long time!! They have played each other for 9 of the last 10 national championships, have unbelievable records (well the MU coach Vince Kehres only took over in 2013, but is 28-1 with his only loss to WW in NC last year. He took over for his dad who was 332-24-3 with 11 national championships in 27 seasons there). MU average points per game this year is 60.3! Per game! wow!! Update- actually WW coach Lane Leipold is moving up to be coach at Buffalo in FBS after this game. If he wins (looking like he will), he will leave with 111-6 career record- same # national championships as losses! I am pretty sure former Mount Union ( and Delta High School in northwest ohio athletic league) running back Nate Kmic has the ALL- division record for career yards too!
I think we shouldn't jump to conclusions ( even though it is fun). I could be wrong, but I thought Weber had planned on announcing at the Army All-American Game. Which Harris may have been expecting to happen and was caught by surprise when he found out Weber had committed. Could be simple as that.
