Things are beginning to get real. Realer than real. The absolute realest.

Ohio State's title defense starts now. In less than a week, the endlessly fascinating Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the one opponent to fell them last season in a revenge game on the road, at night, in a hellscape of Metallica enthusiasts with a passing interest in college football.

We're pretty excited. This is how college football should start. Not with a whimper, but with an EEEXXXXIIITTT LIGHT ENTER NIIIGGGGHHHTTTT and headbanging until our brains are much against our skulls.

Luckily this week we've assembled an excellent lineup of former Ohio State players to help us figure everything out. First up is the always entertaining Matt Finkes with Finkes On Football, as he lets us in on the Xs and Os of how Virginia Tech and Ohio State might try to out think each other, and then we've got the incredible James Laurinaitis to talk a little coaching, linebacking, and general Ohio State info. The Little Animal was excellent, and if you want an unfiltered look into the true mental side of the game, he brought that in spades. As I told him, that's exactly the kind of thing we need to hear and see more of, because it makes us more informed fans of the game.

Also Ask Us Anything, which you guys absolutely did. You can ask us literally anything on Twitter or via email, so please continue to do so!

0:00- Football football FOOTBALL! It is go time. Enough speculation, let's hop right into Virginia Tech.

16:58- Really ashamed it took me that long to get to Illmatic for best debut album.

30:35- Matt Finkes drops knowledge and also the best road game to go eat at in the ol' B1G

47:40- JAMES LAURINAITIS OFF THE TOP ROPE

1:02:45- Donkey Kong is also a game Cardale could dominate

And that's it. The long dark tea time of the soul known as summer is over. It's football season. Let's get it, Buckeyes. See you next week.
