Wiggler’s A Pro!?! (J. Davidson)

Thankfully, it won’t be long before July turns to August and preseason camp opens for the Buckeyes. I have a feeling you, too, are aching for some actual on-field news, happenings and speculation. I’m damn near sporting a choad picturing Tressel, the media etc. giving us those little nuggets like which [...]

A Program in Flux or Just a Tough Month?

  • By Chris - July 8th, 2008

Pass the Advil

With most of the Buckeye faithful focused on a possible third straight crack at a pigskin national title, Thad Matta’s hoops program has been flying somewhat under the radar. That’s probably a good thing considering there’s been much more bad news than good news of late, especially in comparison to what Tressel [...]

Time Warner is Still on the Clock…

  • By Corey - July 3rd, 2008

Time Warner’s feed of the BTN

Ohio State announced yesterday the starting times for the home OOC games, all starting at noon and two of them on the BTN. Youngstown St. and Troy have been picked up by the Network, while the Ohio U. game will be on ESPN or ESPN2.

This could be one of [...]

Matta Reportedly Adds Practice Body

  • By Chris - July 2nd, 2008

With no real Juco’s left worthy of a scholarship, Thad Matta has reportedly added a walk-on formerly of Cincinnati Moeller in the form of 6′9″ J.J. Grycko.

Grycko played on Moeller’s 06′-’07 state title team averaging a paltry 4.1 points, according to Bob Baptist’s blog.

I’m glad it appears Matta is content to not waste a scholarship [...]

Koufos’ High School Coach Blasts Matta

  • By Chris - June 29th, 2008

I think it’s safe to say Jack Greynolds Jr, Kosta Koufos’ head coach at Canton GlenOak High School, is not a huge fan of Thad Matta.

In today’s Canton Repository, Greynolds called Matta “clueless” based on his thoughts that Matta was to blame for the rumored poor relationship between the slow to develop big man and [...]

Jazz Nab Koufos with 23rd Pick

  • By Chris - June 26th, 2008

After mock drafts had him going as high as 11th, Kosta Koufos fell to the 23rd pick in tonight’s draft.

My first thought, which an ESPN talking head sort of alluded to, is that Jerry Sloan might eat Kosta for lunch if the big Greek doesn’t step up the toughness in a hurry.

Koufos was the 9th [...]

Draft Day

  • By Chris - June 26th, 2008

With Kosta Koufos guaranteed to be a first round selection and Othello Hunter hoping for a late second round miracle, Ohio State is looking at back to back years with at least one player being drafted for the first time since 2000 and 2001.

The 2000 NBA Draft saw Michael Redd drafted by the Bucks and [...]

Johnson Commits to ‘Cuse; Groce Taking OU Job

  • By Chris - June 26th, 2008

Published reports say Iowa State transfer Wesley Johnson has committed to Syracuse.

Bob Baptist spoke with Johnson last week and the indication was he would visit OSU before July 6th but that’s out the window as Johnson settled on ‘Cuse without visiting any of the other schools on his list.

In other Buckeye Basketball news, 1460 just [...]

Michael Redd, F— Yeah!

  • By Jason - June 23rd, 2008

The outside threat Team USA was missing?

Michael Redd will be a member of Team America. Although it won’t be official until later Monday, most of the team was known over the weekend as the NBA cemented its hold on the league that keeps secrets the worst. If you doubt that for one second, [...]

OG: Over Gold

Lock up the liquor as it was announced yesterday that Bob Huggins and his WVU Mountaineers will visit Value City Arena next year with a return trip to Morgantown the following season.

I know many in Buckeye country are fond of the old slickster from his days as Eldon’s assistant but I’ve always found [...]
