IZZO WAS GOING TO FOUL. Michigan State was up three with 3.2 seconds remaining, and Dan Dakich was saying Tom Tizzo didn't typically foul in those situations.
Had OSU successfully inbounded the ball, however, the Spartans were going to foul.

EAST LANSING – Tom Izzo doesn't foul when ahead three late in games, ever, but memories of a 2010 Michigan-Ohio State game helped change his mind.

"Because everybody says I don't change with the times," joked Izzo, who took criticism early in the year when MSU defended and let Maryland hit a late, tying three in an eventual double-overtime win for the Terps on Dec. 30. "What I looked at, I thought I knew what they would run. Having Evan Turner in the house helped me know what they were going to run. Honest to God."
Turner, the former OSU great and current Boston Celtic, was in attendance and is still remembered for the halfcourt shot he hit to beat U-M in the Big Ten tourney. Izzo guessed correctly that OSU coach Thad Matta would try a similar play, and the instruction Izzo gave his team was to foul after one dribble before the Ohio State player with the ball got to midcourt.
I don't understand why you wouldn't foul in that situation, other than hubris.
SHAUN WADE IMPRESSING IN 7 ON 7. The Pylon 7 on 7 tournament is happening down in Florida, and 2017 commit Shaun Wade is doing his thing.

Ohio State commit Shaun Wade was another 2017 prospect that shined on the defensive side of the ball. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian product stands 6-foot-2, 175-pounds and used that length to make a nifty interception along the sidelines. The Pro Impact corner was good in coverage much of the day.
Only two more seasons until he can make plays for the Buckeyes...
