Nussmeier will be a huge improvement over Gorgeous Al Borges, while I'm not sure that Louisville hasn't reached it's ceiling already (11-2 & 12-1 the last two years) so that even if Petrino is an improvement, how would you tell?
My thoughts too. I think Strong is a better HC, see him leaving for Texas, than Petrino. Louisville seems to only be on their way down.
I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.
I think Nussmeier is a great hire. I don't know much about him but see that he coached under Sarkisian at Washington. Sark has gone to the hurry-up power spread offense. Wondering if Nussmeier intends to bring some of that to Michigan. If yes the irony is thick.
Petrino; because offense isn't the problem at TSUN. It's Mattison and HJoke and their horrible defense. GO BUCKS!
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
Something that keeps being ignored.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Yeah, people seem to be willing to turn a blind eye to the terrible defense because Mattison is the guy there, but that defense has been in decline since right after Hoke's 1st year. It did improve quickly after he & Mattison arrived & began a decline just as fast.

I guess when you can recruit like Mattison, people are more forgiving.
Eleven Warriors is ridiculing Urban Meyer's favorite DC and the "best recruiter" he's known in college football?
Michigan's got a lot of talent on offense, having even a remotely competent OC is all they need to do well.
Borges wasn't that guy. Neussmeier is, and then some.
Nussmeier will be a big improvement over Borges, but as for Louisville, Petrino has made Louisville relevant before and i think he will keep them relevant now. I do not think there are many coaches available than can keep Louisville relevant with their moving to an legitimate conference next year . Both Petino and Petrino have something in common too, Adulterers.
L'Ville moving to the ACC will help, not hurt them. It will help in recruiting and they won't have to take a back seat to too much in-conference (Miami, FSU, Va Tech, Clemson,) that's about it.
Life's daily struggle is choosing between saying F--ck-it, or soldiering on with your responsibilities.
Petrino is back in the saddle...alone this time.
I am not very smart, but I recognize that I am not very smart.
for the moment anyway.
He clearly fell for her after seeing her in those volleyball shorts.

This chick is pre-'totes magotes' era.
Heard he got some free Geico motorcycle insurance as part of his compensation plan.....
Where is the neither option?
Waiting for Hoke to be fired so Mattison can become OSU's DC
The offseason begins when your season ends. Even then there are no days off.
I voted Doug Neidermeyer
I think his own troops killed him in Nam.....
I voted on Nussmeier just because Petrino is replacing a known commodity in Charlie Strong, who has proven to get the job done (on Louisville's level). It will be hard to differentiate Strong's Louisville with Petrino's, as they both made L'Ville (somewhat) relevant.
Nussmeier on the other hand will elevate TTUN's offense in the only direction it can go. He will continue to use Hoke's recruits plus more of his own to deliver the Hoke/Saban (haha!) -style offense up north. Nussmeier also might deliver inroads into the Alabama recruiting scene otherwise not penetrable by the B1G.
Nussmeier's hiring has the potential to make TTUN a very dangerous foe in the coming years. That said, at least it shows there are two teams so far in the conference who give a shit about assistant coaching quality/salary.
