PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Somehow, someway, the warrior skunks will find a way, even if they drop the game in Evanston. That division is pretty weak outside of Northwestern.
I think "F*gate" might have helped Nebraska get their act together. It also helps that their first 3 conference games are against Illinois, Purdue, and Minnesota.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Northwestern will walk away with the crown, and Ferentz will win coach of the year, again...
Did you see Northwestern play at Cal? I think they might have to limp away with that division title...
Picked NW because I think it's between them and TSUN, and they get TSUN at home. TSUN doesn't look good, and they've had problems on the road under Hoke.
Class of 2008
Northwestern - Venric Mark hasn't played yet, but they expect him back for our game in two weeks. They look to be the only team in that division that can play on both sides of the ball.
Northwestern hasn't exactly looked great on defense this season.
Northwestern;'s #2 CB is out for the season, but they aren't Nebraska
They aren't MSU either. Northwestern's D is like a mildly better version of Minnesota.
Agreed - But it comes down to Northwestern or m*ch*gan, doesn't it??.... as MSU has as little offense as Nebraska does defense, and Iowa and Minnesota will be exposed as Iowa and Minnesota in the next week or three.......So then Northwestern gets m*ch*gan at home, where m*ch*gan is terrible on the road, and Northwestern isn't going to wilt like Akron or UConn.
Oh what fun it would have been had Akron and UConn both won (or either for that matter)
I don't think Nebraska is completely out of it. Their D was just as bad last season, and they still managed to win the division. With no Ohio State, or Wisconsin on the schedule, Nebraska has a much easier road this year.
I really hope the Huskers win that division again. If the Buckeyes make it to the B1G CG, it would be good to play against a team that wasn't on the regular season schedule.
Not that our guys wouldn't love another crack at that defense.
And if, God forbid, it's them and Wisconsin again, I'm not watching...that might be a bit disturbing, and I need my sleep.
I think UMN will finish last, but someone had to vote for them in this poll.
Northwestern is probably the best team, however, they also have the hardest schedule. I think it's between UM and MSU. Nebraska will not fair well IMO. UM's defense is solid and all of their misfortune has come from turnovers. Those should be easily fixed (plus Jake Ryan should come back soon). They looked incredible against an obviously overrated ND team. MSU looks a lot better with Cook at the helm, but their WRs cannot catch a cold. They're defense will keep them in most games.
They looked incredible against an obviously overrated ND team.
Giving up 410 yards at home is incredible?
Well we gave up 503 vs Cal so what's your point.
I don't remember taking the field against Cal.
You made the statement that M*chigan's D looked "incredible" against Notre Dame. 410 yards says otherwise. No one came close to saying that about Ohio State's D against Cal.
I've never understood why people resort to pulling in facts that are completely unrelated to the argument to try and support their side.
Now part of his original comment that I find interesting is that he uses the adjective "incredible" to describe UM's defense but in the same sentence uses the adjective "overrated" to describe ND's team. If ND is so overrated, how did UM look incredible? And if UM is so incredible, why did it give up 410 yds of offense to an overrated ND team? That makes no sense to me.
I'm still with Dantonio's Spartys to take the division. However, he's been doinking around with the QB position too long. Maxwell has not proven to be a starter let alone a finisher. Conner (Joe Bauserman) Cook is inaccurate and doesn't have a strong arm.
Dantonio has to get Tyler O’Connor and true freshman Damion Terry into the Iowa game and one of them has to step up to become the starter or their season is toast. So, I'm hedging on the bye week for Dantonio and his staff to wake the hell up and stop the loyalty syndrome or they might as well recruit ol' #14.

Michigan State. If they can find the faintest of pulse on offense I think they can beat anyone besides OSU.
Michigan State can win this. They have truly excellent D. The offense has a serviceable running game but really crappy WRs. The QBs are not bad, and actually Maxwell is pretty good. But the WRs drop balls that hit them in the hands, chest, arms, it doesn't matter, they can't catch.

Did someone say Dave?
Which one is the Legends, again?
Just remember that we are the leaders. We are the best of the B1G. TTUN is in the Legends. They have nothing else to enjoy but the past.
The one with the coaches that are fat, angry, grumpy, and overrated.
I thought that was the SEC West.
I'd rather keep the subject off of Bert.
2. Michigan State
Before the season started, I thought the Huskers would take, but good Christ their defense is awful.
I went with NU b/c I didn't feel like clicking on TTUN.
We don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, we're from O-HI-O!
It is amazing how little separates those six teams right now, and I get the feeling that any team could win or lose against any other team. NW has the best coach, MSU has the best D, Nebraska has the best O, and Michigan might have the highest ceiling. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if Iowa pulled a Kirk Ferentz special and won the division in a year nobody was paying attention to them.
I voted for Northwestern but hope that it is either Michigan Starte or Nebraska. I don't want to see a rematch in the title game whether it be Michigan or Northwestern. Doesn't do anything to help boost us a week before the final BCS and also it is harder to beat the team you've already beat once.
I voted for Northwestern. I really believe that the division will come down between Northwestern & Michigan and after watching Michigan struggle against inferior opponents two weeks in a row I can't go with them. Would I be shocked if Michgian won? No, because I wonder about Northwestern's ability to defend against Gallon and Touissant. On the other hand, except for the Notre Dame game Gardner has thrown more interceptions than tds in the 3 other games.
Also, I really (and I can't stress this enough) do not want to see a The Game Part II in the Big Ten Championship game.
Michigan St has a huge advantage over michigan and Northwestern- the Spartans don't play Ohio State.
Northwestern is my favorite to win the division.
Toss up at this point. I thought UM looked great against ND, but has exhibited a pretty terrific impersonation of the RichRod era the past two weeks. I honestly won't be surprised unless Iowa or Minnesota wins it. Actually, probably only Minnesota belongs in that category.
We have to sacrifice and root for Meatchicken in the short term to win the division because if they do win it, we can beat them twice in one season.
This may never happen again.
Is Taylor Martinez out? If so, then Nebraska has a shot.
