PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
After Trey, I would say McGary. That kid is going to be a nightmare to deal with. Our current lack of developed big guys doesn't help either.
He was a beast in the tourny, but all season he was nothing more than a bench warmer in most cases. If I was him, I would strike while the iron is hot and make the jump in case his performance was just a fluke. Hopefully he reads this forum and takes my well founded advice that is based on his best interests.
I also think Hardaway is gone no matter what.
Agree. McGary has shown more in the last few weeks than BJ Mullens did during his whole freshman year.
Remember to get your wolverine spade or neutered. TBDBITL
My gut feeling was that if he had a great final game, he might go, but now I think he'll be back. Would like to see him make the jump though.
I'm cool with Burke coming back if he wants to..... Craft gets in his head and has his number.
I think the Zeller, Hardaway, and Burke are gone already. If Payne leaves, Michigan State will not be as good as recent Michigan State teams have been.
It seems as though MSU is in this position every year, yet Izzo still has a good team and makes a good showing in March. Somebody steps up and they get back on track, like always.
i have learned a couple things about college basketball and one of them is never count out tom izzo.
Zeller hands down. He is the most complete player in the Big Ten and reigning champs. Trey Burke? Last I checked Aaron Craft is still an OSU player.
What do you define as a complete player?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Hardaway Jr. just so we stop seeing his father with the ski cap at every game!
Rather see his face than hear his homophobic hate speech.
I 100% want Hardaway Jr. to stay at UM. He's always f-ing up and I love it
If not for THJ, we would've been 2-0 against UM this past year. His 3 point shooting single handedly kept them in that game. As I recall, we were up by 8 or 9, about midway through the second half. We were surging, but he answered every time with a 3 to pull them close. His stat line from the night: 23 points, 6-9 from 3.
Adreian Payne. He keeps getting better every year. I worry about him more than Burke.
AACC has replacements ready for Burke; MSU has big bodies who can replace Payne - neither team will be crippled by those losses.. The one from the list we were given for which there is not an immediate replacement is Hardaway. Though if I'd been given the choice I'd like to see McGary gone. Don't get distracted with what he didn't do when he was learning the game, what he showed late in the season makes Payne look like Ravenel. We beat MSU twice with Payne in the line-up - we haven't faced AACC with a strong McGary and I'd rather not.
Honestly I'm not too worried about the smaller players. But our lack of proven bigs has me pretty worried about any of the better bigs out there. Hopefully Williams finds a way to play with that fleeting hardness we've seen him play with from time to time. He's got the potential, but I'm still worried.
Definitely need to see Amir play with a chip tree on his shoulder. They have been his best games when he comes out and has the #juice flowing.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
Can I say all of the above? I honestly don't mind Burke staying, because Craft knows exactly how to play him. Zeller isn't a horrible choice to stay due to the fact that IU doesn't utilize him (if they actually used him correctly, they would have beaten Syracuse). Payne would be my number one.
Is there anyway we can get all of the players from the Team up North to leave and have a group of incompetent ding-dongs take over. Ah, the good ol' days when Tommy Amaker was the coach. Well, at least they continue to wear those bright yellow uniforms so that they look like a bunch of peeps! This is what I see when I see them take the court!
