Will Greg Oden ever play a full season in the NBA?

I said yes in that he can play >70 games at 20+ minutes/ game (I'd consider that a full season).

I haven't read Titus' book yet, but I think I read an interview with Oden in that he rushed his rehab way too quickly in Portland. The fact he is taking off all this year means he is taking it seriously with respect to his rehab.

I agree with you, hopefully with a full period of rehab he can play a full season with meaningful minutes on the court.

Just FYI, the only thing about Oden in Titus' book is some examples of how he is a huge nerd.

I too voted with my heart, and said yes. Such a good guy, I really hope he makes it. It was smart of him to take this much time off to completely heal and be ready. This is obviously his last chance at making it, so hopefully all the stars align for him.

I hate to say it but I think Greg Oden will go down as the second worst draft pick in NBA history and I think Portland made both of them. The worst was taking Sam Perkins over MJ and then this one taking Oden over Kevin Durant. That said I really do hope he can make it back.

It was Sam Bowie out of UK, but close enough. (Sam Perkins I think played for the Super Sonics, among others; he did play with MJ at UNC).

Don't get me wrong; I like him and he's a great guy and you can't predict injuries but in pro sports it's all about performance and you can't perform if you can't play.
