You forgot the Ohio Players. Wow! It's been a funky offseason and a "Roller Coaster of Love" with college football news and you didn't mention the Ohio Players. I understand you couldn't name them all, but show some love to the obvious. It's Friday and on that note I think tonight I'll play "You Sweet Sticky Thing" for my wife.
Joe Walsh is the player you'll hear on the radio 100 years from now....but I'm showing my age. When I was at OSU, there the RC Mob. I always think they were Red Hot Chilli Peppers good, but an Ohio version that just came to the party too early. There were a whole pile of good funk/R&B bands out of the Dayton/Cincy area. I'm surprised a bunch of dudes from Cleveland aren't chanting "M-S-B", "M-S-B"...for Michael Stanley Band.
Used Kids was one of about a half-dozen really good record stores that used to be on High Street (Singing Dog was always my favorite). I've noticed on visits since the remodel that most of them are gone. Of course, everyone just buys music from Steve Jobs now.
What about Cleveland resident and recent Oscar winner Trent Reznor? He is Nine Inch Nails, the rest of the guys are just there for the tour.
My Vote goes to Watershed though. Those guys put on a great Show with Lou Brutus once a year. Here's to hoping for another Hate rally. LONG LIVE THE DEAD SCHEMBECHLERS!!!!
The National's singer sounds like he's drunk in nearly all of their songs. The Black Keys are FAR better. Dan Auerbach is incredible. Anyway Dave Grohl should be on here since the Foo Fighters are absolutely incredible. Also Kid Cudi should be an option too.

No Bootsy Collins? FOR SHAME.
No, Bootsy makes songs for "Ohio's BCS Team".
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
JOE WALSH!
I second that...and don't forget Chrissie Hynde. You must be older than dirt like myself.

Wichita claims him.
vacuuming sucks
I third that!!
Also Tom Scholz, who founded Boston.....
I guess I am old!!
Close. Very close.
The Black Keys definitely, but Kid Cudi should be an option on the poll.
I'm dying inside knowing that Big N Rich has more votes than The Natty.
Taquitos.
Guided By Voices?
Dave Grohl was born in Warren, does that count?
Also, how is Big and Rich from Ohio? Did you mean Rascal Flatts?
Not a fan but John Legend is good at what he does. Personally I'd go with Bone Thugs or Kid Cudi.
Fan of bacon since 1981
Big fan of John Legend's music and the fact that he is a huge Buckeye fan makes me like him even more. His SI model GF says she is the I-O to his O-H
Where is O.A.R.?!?! Granted most were from Maryland, but they all went to OSU!!
Dwitght Yoakam is from Kentucky but was raised in C-bus.
No Bone Thugs N Harmony? Whitest. Poll. Ever.
I have to agree. I say BONE in a near landslide with the Black Keys and Kid Cudi getting honorable mention.

What? I LOVE that song?
"And then we loaded up our tailgate
Joined a convoy on the freeway
Headed north to see them Buckeyes
And Notre Dame."
How can you not love that?

Ha! Yes!
I was actually thinking both Chrissie Hynde and MSB, right after I thought Joe Walsh.
The National is not very well known, but I love their music. Bloodbuzz Ohio is a great tune. Check it out.
vacuuming sucks
Speaking of, is the Newport still open? Used Kids? Flying Pizza?

-The Aristocrats!
I got his autograph in the Kansas City airport once. He was cool about it for sure. Looked like hell though. True story.
vacuuming sucks
No John Denver? LOLZ
Wow. Obviously, not enough people have listened to The National. Way better than The Black Keys.
Also: Over the Rhine should be on this list.
