Ohio State, thanks to a heroic effort from Kelsey Mitchell and Ameryst Alston, dropped Maryland for the second time this season, besting the Terrapins 94-86 at the Schottenstein Center on Monday night.

Mitchell, a sophomore All-American for Kevin McGuff's Buckeyes, poured in 33 points but it was a first half three-point exhibition by the senior Alston that really set the tone for the hot-shooting Buckeyes.

Coming into the season, Maryland, led by coach Brenda Frese, had never lost a Big Ten conference game and they've still not lost to anyone but the Buckeyes. Don't be surprised if another matchup between these two powerhouses happens come Big Ten tournament time.
