Former Buckeye safety Ron Tanner did not make to the NFL, but the opportunities provided to him from the program have yielded real-life rewards.

Tanner met Cleveland Cavaliers owner and Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert in 2015 during one of the team's Real Life Wednesdays and since then has become a full-time employee with Gilbert's company.

"Real Life Wednesdays really sets that platform for you to meet folks that you would not regularly bump into, allows you to have that communication, that contact with folks that you may not see on the regular, and they want to hire you," Tanner said. "They want to hire Ohio State athletes."

Hailing from Eastmoor Academy in Columbus, Tanner was part of the 2015 National Championship team as a senior. He mostly contributed on special teams, but was able to get one interception in the Buckeyes' 2013 matchup with Buffalo.
