Former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman coaches the Texas Longhorns these days, and with National Signing Day five days away, only one of the top 20 prospects in the state—No. 20, four-star dual-threat QB Sam Ehlinger—is committed to the state's biggest university.

Herman must get creative with pitching the new Longhorn brand to teenagers who were seven when Vince Young conquered Southern California in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

Here's a recent photo tweeted by Herman, the kind that have been commonplace in college football for years now, hailing former players coached by the Longhorn staff:

No, gentle Buckeye reader, your eyes do not deceive you: That's the beloved Buckeye combo of Braxton Miller and Ezekiel Elliott pitching Longhorn football.

At least they play professional football in Texas.

They're not the only alum culled from other schools, either. Brian Westbrook went to Villanova, and Tramon Williams went to Louisiana Tech.

Again, it's clear why Herman tapped Miller and Elliott, but it doesn't make it any less weird.
