Slot receivers beware: Donte Whitner is back in the NFL.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Wednesday afternoon Whitner has signed with the Washington Redskins after working out with their NFC rival, the New York Giants, last week.

Whitner last played in 2015 with the Cleveland Browns. He finished with 58 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. The Browns released him in April, two years into his original four-year contract.

This is the fourth stop for the former Pro Bowler. The Buffalo Bills originally selected Whitner with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Washington, 2-2, sits in third place in the NFC East. It heads to Baltimore this Sunday to play the Ravens at 1 p.m. ET.
