It's not surprising, but it's official.

Oklahoma University announced its first sellout of the 2016 season Thursday, and all 83,489 seats in Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be filled Sept. 17 when Urban Meyer and Ohio State come to town.

More importantly, officials expect it to be the largest crowd to witness a football game in state history.

"There is a lot of positive momentum as we head into 2016," said OU Vice President Joe Castiglione. The Ohio State game will attract the largest crowd ever to see a football game in our state, and with the kind of interest we're seeing, it won't be surprising if other games are similarly attended. Sooner fans have long been known for their enthusiastic support, and my sense is that they're taking it to an even higher level for this season."

Ohio State at Oklahoma kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Should be a fun one.
