The Buckeyes have a handful of incoming freshmen who are expected to see the field in 2016, and three of them were working overtime on Friday night. Dwayne Haskins, Demario McCall, and Binjimen Victor – all four-star recruits for the 2016 class – spent some extra time at the WHAC preparing for their inaugural campaign with the Buckeyes and Zone Six.

Haskins, who hails from Potomac, Maryland, is expected to push redshirt freshman Joe Burrow for the backup quarterback spot. As a senior, he threw for more than 2,200 yards and totaled 23 touchdowns (20 passing, 3 rushing) in nine games. McCall is coming off an injury-plagued senior season, but the former North Ridgeville star looks to be fully recovered. He should start out in the running back room with some special teams sprinkled in but is versatile enough to play a number of different positions on offense. Victor, along with fellow newcomer Austin Mack, both may see the field as true freshmen in an effort to improve a depleted group of wide receivers.

Sophomore linebacker Jerome Baker also took note of the extra work the newcomers are putting in.

As noted in this morning's Skull Session, McCall has had an especially busy week as the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder – along with the rest of the Buckeye backfield – put in some added work on the links on Thursday.

Fortunately, though, it looks as if the speedster has elected to stick with the gridiron.
