Montreal wide receiver Duron Carter won't be available for the Alouettes on July 15 when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Canadian Football League suspended the former Ohio State wide receiver for one game due to his part in a wild fracas that unfolded Thursday night when the Alouettes played the Ottawa RedBlacks.

Carter made a circus touchdown reception in the third quarter before walking past the Ottawa bench and bumping head coach Rick Campbell to the ground.

The Ottawa bench collapsed on Carter, who continued his troll celebration all the way back to the Montreal bench. Refs eventually ejected Carter and Ottawa defensive back Jerrell Gavins from the game.

Ottawa would come back to win, 28-13.

"To tell the truth, I don't even know what happened," Carter said after the game, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Company. "I ran into the coach, apparently. I didn't even know I knocked him over. It's an emotional game. I'm excited. I got hit. I got a cut on my face from that hit. You tell me."

The league told him his actions violated "the standards of acceptable conduct within the CFL.”

The Alouettes are on a bye this week, which gives Carter ample time to work on his villain persona, which he seems to be embracing:

Duron Carter, CFL Villain

Carter, who was fined by his club for an undisclosed amount on Friday, will return to action Monday, July 25 when the Alouettes head to Toronto to play the Argonauts.
