The Buckeye contingent in Buffalo is getting stronger.

The Buffalo Bills, who drafted Cardale Jones and Adolphus Washington earlier this year, announced the signing of free agent running back Daniel "Boom" Herron on Thursday. The Bills cut cornerback Julian Whigham to accommodate the move.

Herron, a sixth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012, played with the Bills and the Indianapolis Colts in 2015.

In Buffalo, he joins a crowded running back stable that includes LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams, Jonathan Williams, Mike Gillislee, and James Wilder Jr.

The Bills' season starts Sunday, Sept. 11 with a trip to Baltimore to take on the Ravens.
