Terrelle Pryor, who earned a spot with the Cincinnati Bengals after a tryout last month, has been cut from the team, according to The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson. (Cincinnati.com confirmed the report.)

If this is truly the end for Pryor's time in Cincinnati (and there's no reason to think it isn't), it won't be for lack of effort.

“At some point in time,’ Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson told Bengals.com last month, “life rewards you for the hard times and hopefully some day he’ll find his reward. He’s responded. He’s here early. He stays late. He does everything you would want someone to do…He’s more mature. He’s come here from three different places and after a while when you’re getting your butt kicked, you want it to end, and you’re doing everything you can to put yourself in the best possible light with your teammates.”

This also puts Pryor's NFL career in limbo. He's been released by his last three teams (Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals).

Remarkably, Pryor is still only 25, though he turns 26 in two days.

As for the Bengals, this move all but christens A.J. McCarron as Andy Dalton's backup.
