Slowly but surely, Ohio State freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett keeps working his name into the Heisman Trophy discussion.

Barrett accounted for five more touchdowns – three through the air and two on the ground – in Ohio State's 56–17 dismantling of Rutgers Saturday and now has 20 touchdowns in his last four games.

As you can see in the graphic above, Barrett is right on the pace of last year's winner, Jameis Winston, through the first six games of their freshmen campaigns. In fact, Barrett is on pace to finish with 3,996 yards of total offense, 3,230 passing yards and 40 touchdowns, good enough for first, third and first, respectively, in the Ohio State record book.

You likely won't find many Ohio State fans calling for Barrett to take home the trophy at this point, but the man certainly deserves to be in the conversation.
