Say it ain't so! Troy Smith, the Heisman-winning and Wolverine-killing former Ohio State quarterback, was released today by the Montral Alouettes, the only CFL team for which Smith has played.

Smith's play had dipped this year, as he was only completing 47.7% of his passes (down from 52.6% in 2013) with four touchdowns and four interceptions. (His 2013 TD:INT ratio was 9:4).

Smith was injured last month, and his replacement, Jonathan Crompton, posted a 5-1 mark as the Alouttes new starter and has them poised for a playoff run.

Only 41% of CFL.ca readers polled believe Smith will play in the CFL again.
