Braxton Miller's Instagram account is any indication, the Buckeye signal-caller took this weekend off and jetted to the City of Angels, where he linked up with the San Fernando Valley's Mike Thomas.

The two appear to have went a "Toxic Day Party" at club Lure. This image was posted to Braxton's account around 2 AM EST Monday morning:

I'm not hatin' just trying to understand how a college student with no job can afford a trip to LA.  Let alone hanging out in places frequented by NBA players.

Living in LA, a flight to Columbus is more expensive than a flight to LA.  And Lure isn't hard to get into to, granted he prob had some "star" treatment.

BuckDiego's picture

I won't comment on the trip itself (as I have no idea), but I have a few buddies who head up VIP services for SBE Clubs.  Pretty simple--star QB's and Heisman candidates need not worry about receiving the "celeb" treatment, let alone getting into Hollywood clubs.  I'm sure they were surrounded by a bevy of "hostitutes" and probably didn't have to worry much about buying booze. ;)

Wasn't he working with Whitfield in California around this time last year?

Yes, and he is there now doing the same, I believe.  Mike is from there, so he's working him.

These kind of pictures make me nervous.  Please Please stay out of trouble!

Maybe instead of partying in LA, Braxton should be working on rehabbing his injured shoulder. You know the same shoulder that is preventing him from even throwing a real football with the season in almost here.

As of June 3, Miller IS "working on rehabbing his injured shoulder. You know the same shoulder that is preventing him from even throwing a real football with the season in almost here."

Make sure you know the details before you mouth off. He is in California to work with George Whitfield, like he has done many times before with teammate Mike Thomas. At least he didn't have bottles of champagne in his photos.

I've injured the same shoulder a couple times. It doesn't have to be worked out all day everyday.

And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches!

Everybody needs to relax with the whole money thing.....clearly Brax is saving money by going to 2nd hand stores for his clothes.

and it makes noise from about a mile away.

Have a great time Braxton ! Most college students I know do manage to travel. I certainly did. My crew did Europe and Mexico. Every college student or football player is not necessarily impoverished. Noone  made any comments when Braxton worked out with George Whitfield in Cali on his own dime. So why raise an alarm about him going to LA to chill with one of his teammates? If Johnny Football can party, so can Brax !!

Where does it say he "jetted" to LA DJ? He was already out there working with George Whitfield. Probably just took a few days off while he was out there, or just finished and stuck around a bit.

Kid can't be flying out to LA just for kicks, his wife wouldn't allow that with a toddler. Had to been a work trip and then some fun. He might get some flack for just the photo, "why you out there playing around with Mike. Get your ass back here and take care of your child!"

Nothing worse than I did when I was in college. He is young and having fun. Good for Braxton!

You can get a flight to LA from Cbus for under $400. There are ways to "make money" off your scholarship too. They get a set amount of money for books, room & board, etc. Pretty easy to pocket the extra money from rent, books, food...and use it for a plane ticket or new clothes. Not to mention, his parents could give him money like mentioned above. Peronally, i think it's awesome that James Harden wants to hang out with Brax, hopefully he's a fan!!

And I thought athletes had to scrimp and save on their scholarship money, to find enough cash just to eat out or go to a move once in a while.. Thus the need for athletes to be given a monthly stipend when in school, to be able to do what other students do in their "spare time"?

Maybe Braxton needs to do some high profile partying to capture the Johnny Manziel magic for next season. haha

I did have a dream the other day that Braxton put up 4000 yds passing and 1000 rushing next season. It was awesome. So let's hope!

Braxton's family isn't wealthy but they aren't dirt poor either.  They can afford to send their kid to California to work out with a QB trainer and buy him fashionable duds.  He stays with Mike Thomas who hails from the suburb of Woodland Hills, an upper middle class 'burb.   Not like he is hitting Vegas VIP style and taking up a floor at Caesars.

Brax is over 21 and doesn't do stupid things.

Much like Braxton, and Thomas, Harden doesn't play defense.

This would be, "Nothing good happens after mid-night." ......AND.... "Being in places that can lead to trouble(football wise).". Two of Urban's big ones. Like MANY athletes and younger people, they just can't wait to do certain things that they can do for DECADES after they "grow up".

I think it's great the kid is having some fun. Busts his ass for the team and he deserves some fun!   Has yet to get in any trouble and seems to make good decisions. He is honing his craft and from what I have heard he is a good father. More power to him and I bet the kid continues to make good decisions.

As long as he stays out of trouble who cares? Let him live his life. I'd love to party with an NBA player for a night.

Because I couldn't go for 3.
