Urban Meyer and Ohio State football have striven to incubate a healthy relationship with OSU students. Today at 11 AM at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, they'll host a Student Appreciation Day.

Buses will shuttle students from the Student Union to the WHAC starting at 9:45 AM. Students will need a valid BuckID. Since it's "Sibs and Kids Weekend" at Ohio State this weekend, parents/siblings of students with official wristband will be allowed to enter with students.

Through official decree, Urban Meyer has requested the juice be brought.

Full details can be found at OSU's mothership

And if you happened to hear a bullhorn on campus, take a flier with Kerry Coombs:

That link is from last year.

I bet they bring a little more than juice.

“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”

Note to self: Put together a top-flight Flag team so I can play in the WHAC next year. How cool. (Should probably start my recruiting at the Fastest-Student competition.)

That's awesome, but what the heck is with the blu* jerseys on the field?  I can only imagine what Urban had to.say to that team!

Eli apple looked like an all American. Had atleast 2 pics and some huge hits on receivers. Him and dontre went back and forth all day. Won't be surprised if he's a starter. Raekwon had a real nice hit behind the line on Samuel, guy looks huge in person. D line was almost unblockable. Carter had a nice sack and strip fumble. Marcus Baugh had 2 big plays that were touchdowns . The running game struggled but that's not uncommon for o lines early in the season.  Didn't see rod smith out there. Cardale jones is enormous in person. Both qbs struggled with decision making but didn't have much time either. Fun practice. Some kid beat gareon Conley in the 40

Scarlet_Buckeye's picture

Glad to hear Eli Apple looked great.  We're going to need that kid to step up *BIG TIME* this season.  Doran Grant will lock down the one corner, but IMO, we cannot have Armani Reeves locking down the other.  Eli Applie *MUST* win that battle.  Reeves looked TERRIBLY slow last season, and we'll be in some real trouble if he's manning the opposite corner with the 1s.

TheBadOwl's picture

Reeves didn't look great on that one play against Iowa, but to be fair, I thought he played a lot better in the Orange Bowl than people gave him credit for. He's been killing it by all accounts this spring and I bet the switch to press coverage has helped him a lot.

When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

Can't say I noticed doran grant much. From where I was standing, the guys that were on my side were Conley apple occasionally reeves and some kid wearing 33. They honestly didn't throw outside too much. I will say though the defense was all over speed sweeps and screens. Blew up multiple screens to dontre, especially apple. Team tackled very well today.

brunstar's picture

Anything involving a blown up screen is a major improvement from last year.  I was at the Orange Bowl and that game still gives me bad dreams.

Youngbuck85's picture

They were all over almost every quick developing outside play like that. The only one I noticed that had success out of the backfield was a swing pass Zeke took for like 30 yards for a score. Besides that almost every screen and sweep was completely blown up

They have been holding Doran Grant out.
