Before descending upon Columbus, the members of Select '17 have one final shot at glory under the Friday night lights.

MONEY MARTELL

Facing their fourth-consecutive nationally ranked opponents to open the 2016 season, Ohio State quarterback commit Tate Martell and Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop Gorman easily dispatched Kahuku, Hawai'i, on Saturday night. Martell threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score in the 35-7 win.

Receiver pledge Tyjon Lindsey did not play for the Gaels, despite the fact that doctor's cleared him from a collarbone injury earlier in the week. He wasn't needed, however, as Martell had the Red Raiders on their heels all night.

MEETING EXPECTATIONS

Expected to be one of the top teams in Michigan, Ann Arbor Pioneer was blown out by Muskegon and suffered close losses to Detroit Jesuit and Temperance Bedford on consecutive weeks.

It's been especially frustrating for Ohio State commit Antjuan Simmons, who has played well despite the results.

On Friday, Simmons' pick-six ignited the Patriots, which coasted to a 44-0 win over crosstown rival Huron. Simmons made his impact early, stepping in front of an errant pass on the second play of the game and returned it 36 yards for the score.

KERRY COOMBS-LIKE

Even with star corner Amir Riep sidelined for the second week because of an undisclosed injury, Colerain head coach Tom Bolden recorded his 100th career win on Friday night.

With the 38-7 thrashing of Princeton, the Cardinal recorded their 53-consecutive conference win dating back to 2008.

Bolden needs 61 wins to tie Ohio State defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs atop Colerain's all-time win list.
