Every weekend in the fall, thousands of high school football teams line up and take their shot at prep glory. The Sunday morning Prep Tracker is your final stop for the names, numbers and scores that mattered to Ohio State's recruiting efforts.

TODD SIBLEY AND DANNY CLARK COMPLETE CHAMPIONSHIP GOAL

Archbishop Hoban won its first football state championship Thursday night. The Knights defeated Toledo Central Catholic 33-20. Two Ohio State commits, Todd Sibley and Danny Clark, were key components to the Knights' title. Sibley rushed for 162 yards (4.9 ypc) and two touchdowns and Clark passed for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Tim Shoemaker interviewed Todd Sibley and Danny Clark after the game. Todd Sibley's thoughts:

“At first it started off as a dream,” Sibley said after the game. “Every high school football player’s dream is to win a state championship so it all started with a dream. We all put in the work, that was the first step, and then the next step was to go out and execute on the football field.

"We did that and we won a state championship so to watch that fall into place was great.”

Sibley put Hoban up 7-0 with this 55-yard touchdown:

Danny Clark:

“It still hasn't hit me yet, but to be able to go out there and succeed like we did today means a lot," Clark said after the game. "For everybody to try as hard as they did, it's just a blessing for how the night ended."

[...]

"To play in the Horseshoe, it's something else," Clark said. "I'm really happy for whoever made that change."

Danny Clark connected with Jonah Morris for a 53-yard touchdown pass:

COMP ATT PCT YDS TD INT
PASSING 138 271 .509 2,297 23 5

Hoban should be poised for another title run in 2016 with both Todd Sibley and Danny Clark returning for their senior seasons. The Knights' offensive line will be anchored by Nolan Rumler. Rumler started this year as a 6-4 290 pound freshman.

JORDAN FULLER LEADS OLD TAPPAN (NJ) TO STATE TITLE

Jordan Fuller finished the season with 772 yards receiving (23.4 ypr) and five touchdowns and rushed for 742 yards (9.4 ypc) and 10 touchdowns. Those numbers were good enough for him to earn the Gatorade Player of the Year award for New Jersey.

A bigger honor for Jordan Fuller was winning back-to-back state championships for Old Tappan. Saturday afternoon Fuller was instrumental on both sides of the ball for Old Tappan in the win. Fuller's game as written by The Record:

Fuller, one of the most highly recruited players in New Jersey, also made the game's biggest play on defense. He made a sliding interception in the back of the end zone with 1:30 remaining in the first half, stopping the Patriots’ best scoring chance of the game and preserving a 0-0 tie into halftime.

[...]

“Jordan’s the best player on the team, the best player I’ve ever played with, the best player anyone who’s played against him has played against,” said NV/Old Tappan senior defensive lineman John Piccinich. “No one can stop him, and that showed today.”

Next up for Fuller is deciding where he will play football in college. Most project Ohio State to be the choice, but Notre Dame, Penn State, That Team, Rutgers and UCLA are making a play for the talented playmaker.

SOPHOMORE WR L'CHRISTIAN SMITH SHINES IN DIV. I TITLE GAME

Lakewood St. Edward won a hard fought game against Huber Heights Wayne yesterday. The Eagles defeated Wayne 45-35 for their second straight state championship. However, the game was closer than the 10 point final margin of victory.

With Wayne trailing 31-14 with 7:30 left in the game L'Christian Smith, a sophomore WR that Ohio State has targeted, made this play to spark a Warrior comeback:

Just over a minute later Smith put Wayne in scoring position with this great catch:

Wayne would go on to score and trim the lead to 31-28. On St. Edward's next drive the Warriors intercepted a pass and returned the ball inside the Eagles' five-yard line. Two plays later Wayne scored again and went up 35-31 with 3:42 left in the game. Unfortunately for Smith and Wayne the wheels came off and St. Edward scored two touchdowns to win a wild game 45-35.

LA SALLE DOMINANT IN DIVISION II TITLE GAME

La Salle (Cincinnati) blanked Perry (Massillon) 42-0 Friday night. How lopsided was the win? The nation's top ranked punter, Drue Chrisman, was relegated to kickoffs and extra points because the Lancers never punted. Chrisman finished the game 6/6 on extra points.

La Salle became the first Division II team to repeat as champs since 1993. There have only been three Division II back-to-back title winners. The Lancers also became the 27th school in state history to accomplish this feat.

WAYNE DAVIS WINS AWARD AND HELPS TEAM ADVANCE TO TITLE GAME

2016 Ohio State commit CB Wayne Davis was named The Gatorade Player of the Year for Virginia earlier this week. His fortunes continued as he caught a touchdown pass and had a crucial interception in a semifinal win over Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA).

Davis' Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA) team will play Salem in the Virginia 4A Football Championship on Saturday.
