The Hurry Up is your nightcap of Ohio State recruiting news, catching you up on the day’s events with an ear on the ground for what’s next.

LAWRENCE SETS OFFICIAL VISIT

Yesterday we talked about Chris Daniels, the four-star defensive tackle from Texas, who will make his official visit to check out Ohio State this weekend. Daniels is one of a handful of defensive tackles that the Buckeyes remain interested in, and last night it was reported by Rivals.com that five-star Dexter Lawrence was the latest to lock in an official visit with Urban Meyer's top-ranked Buckeyes.

The North Carolina star, all 6-foot-5 and 330-pounds of him, is the country's third-ranked prospect in the 2016 class and he's making a visit to Columbus on Nov. 21 for the much anticipated matchup against Michigan State according to Rivals.

Lawrence is the type of player that would have a spot at Ohio State up to signing day regardless of who else commits or signs. The Buckeyes have not yet had him in for a visit, so him making the official is a big step. However, they have considerable ground to make up, especially on Florida, who most believe is the leader for his services.

HOLMES IN FOR MICHIGAN STATE AS WELL

Another five-star visitor who's planning on being in Columbus for the Michigan State game is 2017 defensive back Darnay Holmes.

Holmes is one of the country's best cornerbacks regardless of class and he last visited Ohio State in July when he dominated Friday Night Lights. The Buckeyes have two cornerbacks already committed for 2017 but Holmes and Clairton, Pennsylvania's Lamont Wade are two that they'd love to add to the list.

FULLER HAS BUCKEYES IN FINAL EIGHT

Speaking of defensive backs, one of the remaining targets for Ohio State's 2016 class has begun narrowing down his list and it's not a surprise to see the Buckeyes on it.

That is, of course, Jordan Fuller, a four-star athlete from New Jersey who many people have believed would end up a Buckeye for some time now.

Fuller has been playing his recruitment exceptionally close to the vest but his list confirms that the primary contenders have been accurately depicted. He has not yet announced which schools will receive an official visit, but if I'm handicapping the race I'd imagine TCU, UCLA, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan will receive them.

For those worried about Virginia Tech, be advised that Fuller is not from that family of Fullers. His brother is a wide receiver at UCLA.

MALONE-HATCHER RECOVERING FROM INJURY, STILL HEARING FROM BUCKEYES

Michigan 2017 defensive end Corey Malone-Hatcher earned his Buckeye offer over a year ago and he's remained in consistent contact with the Ohio State staff.

"Ohio State's staff has been all over him," Orlando Malone, his father, said. "He has about 10 OSU coaches following him on Twitter. They told him that they coming hard and that they want him. He loves coach (Larry) Johnson so we will get him out there."

He's been playing through significant pain in his junior season at St. Joseph High School, fighting off an injury that occurred in the spring.

"He hurt his ankle back in March," Malone said. "Which is why we didn't camp at OSU this summer. (The injury) resurfaced during the season and he played through it. His cast will come off in two weeks."

As for when the Buckeyes should expect to see CMH make his way to Columbus, his father said they too are likely going to be there for the Michigan State game, but the Penn State game next weekend is also in play.

"(We'll) probably be there for the Michigan State game," Malone said. "But I'd love to see a night game there. We saw Ohio State at Penn State at night last year and it was crazy."

Malone-Hatcher is a four-star prospect ranked as the country's eighth-best 2017 defensive end.
