Noted bad basketball coach Byron Scott benched the Lakers' 2015 No. 2 overall pick, D'Angelo Russell, earlier this week against the Denver Nuggets. Lakers fans openly rued the pick.

D'Angelo Russell and the Lakers responded on Saturday night with their first win of the 2015-16 campaign, dropping the Brooklyn Nets to 0-6.

Russell, who had 16 points midway through the second quarter before being benched by noted bad coach Byron Scott, finished the game with 16 points, three steals and four rebounds.

Silk's highlight occurred in the second quarter with this tombstone of NBA journeyman Jarrett Jack:

(Yes, haters, LA forward Julius Randle's role is noted.)

The win puts the Lakers at 1-4, and they'll be in action Sunday against the equally awful New York Knicks. Please keep D'Angelo Russell in your thoughts and prayers.
