In the least surprising news of the day, Ohio State freshman guard D’Angelo Russell was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association 2015 Freshman All-American Team today. This comes on the heels of Russell being named a First-Team All-American by the USBWA yesterday.

The Louisville, KY product leads Ohio State in scoring (19.3 PPG) and rebounding (5.6 RPG) and three-pointers made (90) – an OSU freshman record for triples in a season -- and is second on the team in assists (168) and steals (53). He led the Big Ten in scoring (20.3) during conference games and was second in the league in all games (19.3).

Russell just keeps adding to his trophy case, as he was also named to the Sporting News All-American Team last week.

It just goes to show you that breaking ankles and setting nets on fire can get you noticed.
