The Ohio State women's tennis team is headed to the NCAA quarterfinals for the second-straight season and for the second time ever after the No. 3 seed Buckeyes downed No. 13 South Carolina 4-1.

Ohio State hopped out to a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point thanks to a 6-1 win for Francesca Di Lorenzo and Miho Kowase and a 6-3 win for Gabriella De Santis and Ferny Angeles Paz.

In singles, Di Lorenzo and Niehaus made short work of their opponents. Di Lorenzo won the first two sets of her match 6-1 over South Carolina's Ingrid Gamarra Martins while Niehaus won 6-3 and 6-0 against Hadley Berg.

The Gamecocks got their first point of the day on court two as Mia Horvit topped Ohio State's Anna Sanford, but Kowase got the win on court four to seal the deal for the Buckeyes and punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.

You can see Kowase's clincher here:

Ohio State will look to advance to the semifinals for the first time in program history when it faces the winner of Friday's match between No. 11 Auburn and No. 6 Texas Tech at noon Sunday in the quarterfinals.

With the men's tennis team also getting a tournament win yesterday, both teams are in the quarterfinals and will look to make some noise in Georgia and hopefully bring some hardware back to Columbus.
