The No. 2 Ohio State women's tennis team is on to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championship, following a 4-0 win over Notre Dame Sunday in Columbus.

The Buckeyes improved to 30–2 on the season, taking the doubles point and three singles matches in straight sets to make quick work of the Irish. The win was Ohio State's 12th shutout in its last 13 matches.

Senior Sandy Niehaus, who earned her 100th singles victory Saturday, captured her 100th doubles win against Notre Dame. She is the first Buckeye with 100 or more singles and doubles wins in program history.

Nihaus and Anna Sanford got things started in doubles with a 6-1 win. Francesca Di Lorenzo and Miho Kowase earned a 6-2 win to capture the doubles point for Ohio State.

Di Lorenzo, ranked No. 1, defeated Notre Dame's Monica Robinson (6-1, 6-1) for one of the team's singles points. Miho Kowase (6-1, 6-4) and Niehaus (6-1, 6-2) gave Ohio State the final margin for the win.

The Buckeyes, seeded No. 3 in the tourney, will face No. 14 South Carolina at noon Thursday in Athens, Georgia.
