WOMEN'S SOCCER Takes down texas in Ot

The Ohio State women's soccer team had an impressive overtime win in front of a home crowd at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this weekend. The No. 19 Buckeyes battled with Texas for 96 minutes until Nichelle Prince scored a game-winner to win 2-1. 

Prince, fresh off of her bronze medal in Rio, scored both goals for Ohio State in the battle with the Longhorns. Goalie Jillian McVicker had two crucial saves to keep the game tied until overtime. This game made for an extremely excited finish and a very loud atmosphere at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The team improved its overall record to 6-1-0 for the year, which is a great start for this talented team.

The Buckeyes will be tested tonight at home against No. 7 BYU. This will be Ohio State's second match up against a top-ten team this season. The team will need all the support they can get tonight at Jesse Owens starting at 7 p.m.

Men's Soccer defeats northwestern in big ten opener

After a rocky 0-4 start to the season, the men's soccer team came out on its home turf to defeat Northwestern 1-0 in the Big Ten Opener. The only goal of the game was scored by senior and Hilliard, Ohio native, Ben Fitzpatrick at the 48 minute of the game. Goalie Patrick Siegfried played a vital role in the victory with his first shutout of the season. 

The defending Big Ten champions are now 1-4 for the season but are looking to improve as they take on more Big Ten match ups. Next they will travel to Happy Valley this Tuesday to take on Penn State.

women's volleyball goes 2-1 at Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational

The No. 19 women's volleyball had an up and down weekend on the road. at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational. They started of with a dominating three set victory over IUPUI. Later on in the day, the Bucks suffered a five set loss to Missouri State. The team finished off the invitational with a win over Green Bay. Ohio State is now 7-2 for the season after this weekend.

Ohio State took down IUPUI in a dominating three sets. Audra Appold and Taylor Hughes both finished with double doubles in the first match over IUPUI. Appold recorded 18 digs and 13 kills, while Hughes had 41 assists and 10 digs. Taylor Sandbothe and Madison Smeathers combined for 24 kills. Sandbothe led the Buckeyes with 17.5 points.

In the final game of the weekend, Ohio State defeated Green Bay in a back and forth battle of five sets. Taylor Sandbothe led the Buckeyes with 24 points, including 20 kills and two aces. Taylor Hughes played a vital role in the win with 49 total assists and eight kills. 

Valeria Leon and Sandbothe both got named to the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn All Tournament team. After their performances this weekend, Leon is now third on the career digs list and Sandbothe is tied for third on the career blocks list at Ohio State.
