The Ghost Of Ray Small

raysmall2.jpg Fragile Dazzle

As noted by Keith at Buckeye Commentary and dissected by Pfef at ATO, this past weekend was supposed to be the 2007 debut for WR/KR Ray Small. In fact, Small even worked out in pregame but did not step on the field once the game started. I haven't heard any official word as to why he didn't, but considering his status as a fragile gazelle, I assume the wet turf led to his watching from the sidelines again.

While I dont see Small as an offensive savior, I do think simply having him on the field stretches the D as his speed must be accounted for every play. Even more importantly, Small could give a boost to the punt and kick return games. For my money, a healthy Small should be returning kickoffs with Brandon Saine as opposed to the likes of Mo Wells, Anderson Russell or Malcolm Jenkins. Kickoff return men should be your burners and I can't imagine a faster tandem than those two. I truly believe Small could be a secret weapon this week.

BlogPoll Ballot: Week 2

After two weekends of football, we're starting to find out more about the schools. For instance, we know that Virginia Tech was probably a little overrated, Oklahoma and LSU look awfully sharp and we also know that Lloyd Carr is going to be one grumpy son-of-a-bitch for the next ten weeks.

There's a new king on our ballot as LSU's spanking of Virginia Tech gives them just enough to pass USC, who had the week off. There's an interesting discussion going on right now in Wolverine-land in regards to Les Miles' suitability as the next coach of the team. Miles, a former Wolverine is either one helluva coach or very adept at utilizing the talent of predecessors.

Oklahoma is another team that impressed. Sure, Miami is still a little down, but that Miami team would handle Akron. Just one week earlier the Canes beat down the same Marshall team that gave WVU fits for the first three quarters on Saturday.

The rest of the poll follows, but we wanted to point out that we added a poll widget to the sidebar over their to the right. Disregard the title (Brian's 2 weeks ahead of us because of the two preseason polls), but this widget will be updated weekly every Wednesday afternoon or so once all of the ballots are tabulated.

As always, you can check the ballots of every voter and the final version is due Wednesday morning, so get your thoughts in by Tuesday night if you think we got it wrong.

1 LSU Va Tech may not have been a true 12, but the Tigers are L-O-A-D-E-D. UP1

The GBU Report: Buckeyes 20, Zips 2

pootie1.jpg Big Ten Network star commentator: Pootie Tang

Is it just me, or are the rest of you also more confident when our opponent has the ball than you are when our offense has the ball? I lost count, but I think my gag reflex was triggered more times than the team generated first downs. Thank God for the defense.

Anyway, Jason has your uber breakdown so I'll get right to the GBU:

The Good

  • DEFENSE!
  • Allowed just 69 total yards (3 rushing, 66 passing)
  • Surrendered just 3 first downs
  • Held Akron to 2/16 on 3rd down conversions
  • Forced Zips to accumulate 575 PUNTING yards.
  • Individually, Doug Worthington stood out with a great instinctual play knocking down a screen pass and his constant presence in the Akron backfield. Ross Homan showed again he is a sure tackler providing depth at LB.

The Bad

  • TURNOVERS! Going -4 in turnovers next week will undoubtedly lead to an L.
  • Worse than the turnovers, Big Ten Network announcer Charles Davis nearly forced our crew to mute the telecast. At one point, Charles apparently jammed 20 marbles in his mouth and proceeded to break down a play forcing a buddy to ask "Is that Pootie Tang calling the game?" Sa da tay!
  • Some of you might disagree, but I thought the timing of inserting Schoenhoft into the game was a little curious. I know we need a backup with some snaps under his belt but I had just sensed a little offensive cohesion and The Vest promptly changed signal callers. That said, I could subconsciously be typing this simply because Robbie reminds me of Bellisari and I'd rather be reminded of the time a sledding accident ended up with my sled cracked and attached to my crotch.

The Ugly

  • I thought Akron was a fairly classless bunch, especially #19 John Mackey. He had a pretty good game but the constant woofing and jawing was annoying. And, is it a team rule that you must have a porn 'stache, chin strap, or some other facial hair to get playing time? Most of them looked like they were either homeless or on parole. Have some pride, people.

The Offense Owes The Defense Some Beers

Beanie got it going in the 2nd halfBeanie got it going in the 2nd half, finishing with his first career 100 yard game

The Silver Bullets came to play against Akron. Their offensive counterparts.. they're still working on some things. On a day in which the Buckeye offense continued its sloppy play with 5 turnovers and a safety, the defense displayed depth and punch in shutting out the Zips, holding them to 69 yards of total offense as Ohio State dominated Akron 20-2.

The score may not have been as indicative of how one-sided this game really was, but to put it in perspective, if the Buckeyes had last season's offense, the score could have easily been 112-0. Of the 69 total yards mustered by the Zips, 34 came on their opening series as they converted just 2 of 16 third-down conversions. At one point, the Buckeyes had held Akron to 13-consecutive three and outs on offense, including 4 that came immediately after the offense had turned the ball over. To be fair, Akron punter John Stec did blow up to the tune of 14 for 575, setting a Zip record for most punts in a game.

Despite the incredible play out of the defense, the offense did little to prove that it's capable of scoring touchdowns on a consistent basis. At halftime, with the Zips trailing 3-2 (attach witty baseball reference here), and after having given up a safety on what was essentially a 3-yard loss, panic buttons around Buckeye nation were no doubt getting pounded. The offense did put together a couple of nice drives in the 2nd half and Beanie got cooking late, but the offensive line still isn't dominating the way it should be and mistakes, whether in the form of penalties or in the form of turnovers, continue to haunt the team.

The schedule has been a blessing for the inexperienced Buckeyes, and here's to hoping they have their mistakes out of them before squaring off against a Washington squad that suddenly looks dangerous and more than capable of handing the Buckeyes their first loss of the season.

OFFENSE:

Early on, the offense appeared to struggle with Akron's 3-3-5 and the Zips were able to get penetration. Mix in a few fortuitous bounces on Akron punts and you have the conditions under which Akron could hold a first quarter lead, 2-0. The safety, the first given up by the Buckeyes since the 2005 Texas game, was upheld after replay and seemed to put the stadium into a state of shock. After Todd Boeckman threw interceptions on consecutive passes to bridge the end of the 1st quarter and the start of the 2nd quarter, flashbacks of the Appy State miracle came to mind. Whatever was said to the offense at halftime seemed to work at least a little as they promptly put 17 points up in the 2nd half.

Saine saw the endzone againSaine danced on the red rug for the 2nd week in a row (AP Photo)

Boeckman did have the 2 interceptions, but one was a receiver slip, while the other was on him for forgetting that defenses have a position called "safety". He did complete 2 more touchdowns, bringing his season total to 4 and showed that he's more than happy to look to other receivers if defenses attempt to take Robo away, but his numbers did take a hit from last week, going 14/23 for 131. Chalk that up to a rather exotic defense employed by the opponent and slightly better athletes than he faced last week against Youngstown State.

Backup Robbie Schoenhoft saw limited action in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but the offense seemed to stall under him. However, he did contribute to the turnover party by dropping a fumble after he took off from the pocket. Check yourself Lil' Belisari, fans want to see pockect smoothness unless you're good at scrambling. Troy Smith was good at scrambling. Guys like you and Karsatos, not so much. The other backup, freshman Antonio Henton saw garbage time at the end of the 4th quarter.

Beanie Wells got his first 100 on a respectable 20 for 143, with nearly half of that coming on one drive in the 4th quarter when the Buckeyes had started to wear down the Zips. The Vest mentioned that drive was the first time he'd noticed Beanie squaring his shoulders to the hole and he may have had some technique problems early on. Much like last week, a lot of his early problems were on the line and here's to hoping that the Parker award goes unawarded for the 2nd straight week. Their didn't seem to be a sense of urgency from the line with guys just walking back to the huddle at the end of plays and such.

The coaches planned for Wells to get 20 carries with 10 each going to Mo Wells and Saine. Saine ended up getting 9 for only 28, but did get his second career touchdown on a nifty dump pass from Boeckman 6 yards out. Mo Wells had 7 carries for 12 yards. If you take away Beanie's big drive, the per carry average across running backs points back directly at the offensive line.

On the outside, Brian Robiskie continues to prove why he'll be an all-conference selection this season finishing with 4 for 82 with a touchdown. The touchdown, his first of the season, came on a gorgeous pattern to the corner of the endzone. You can tell Robo is a smart kid and takes pride in his route running. Great route running is always what made Santonio Holmes so dangerous. If Ted Ginn ran Santonio's routes, he would have had 5000 receiving yards last season. Scratch that. What am I saying.. that's crazy. I mean 10,000 yards.

Brian Hartline was a little more involved than he was in the opener against YSU, catching 6 for 43 and rushing for 9 yards. I was a little disappointed, however, to see that the Father of Our Country, Taurian Washington only had 1 catch for 4 yards after his electrifying score last weekend.

DEFENSE:

We gonna have a celebrationThe seson's first turnover is celebrated in style (AP photo)

Tressel summed up the work of the defense best when he said they "dominated the game". They've yet to yield a touchdown this season and should rightfully require all members of the offense to refer to this Akron game as the first shutout of the season. The two leading rushers for Akron were backup quarterback Carlton Jackson (3 for 10) and running back anf former Buckeye recruit Dennis Kennedy (8 for 15). Akron wideout Jabari Arthur went from 11 receptions for 125 yards against Army last weekend to 4 for 32 against the Buckeyes. The defense recorded its first turnover on the season and 3 sacks in a truly dominating fashion.

Robert Rose earned his first career start at defensive end in place of the injured Lawrence Wilson, but it was Baby Ironhead, Cameron Heyward recording 3 solo tackles and his first career sack. The Gun show also chipped in with a sack, giving him 1.5 on the season. Freshman linebacker and 11W favorite Thadeus Gibson saw action as a stand-up rush end on some third downs and took some of the heat off of Anderson Russell by dropping an interception that hit him in the hands.

For the 2nd straight week, linebacker James Laurinaitis led the team in tackles, with 7, including a 10-yard sack. Backer-mate Marcus Freeman had 6 tackles, including 1 TFL. Sophomore linebackers Ross Homan and Austin Spitler continue to show signs that the linebacking corps is more than in good shape when Laurinaitis and Freeman ultimately move on. Homan had 2 TFLs and a pass break up, while Spitler had a TFL and seemed to be everywhere at times.

The secondary wasn't really challenged much on the afternoon as Akron didn't throw downfield. Jamaria O'Neal did turn in a fine play stripping the ball from Akron's Kennedy in a move similar to Clarett's pick of Sean Taylor in the 2002 Fiesta Bowl.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

I liked the A-Russ lateral to Saine on the opening kickoff and hope to see more of that as the season goes. Saine's speed applied to a change in direction on the field can be disastrous to opponents.

Tressel will sleep easy tonight as Ryan Pretorius continued his start to a solid season by connecting on 33 and 37-yard field goals while also going 2-2 on PATs and driving 2 kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks. One thing the Bucks can work on is the kick coverage. It's never a good sign to see your punters making touchdown-saving tackles against MAC opponents.

NOTES:

OSU won their 20th straight regular season game and 14th in a row at home... The Buckeyes had 2 more turnovers than the Zips had first downs... The announced crowd was 104,314 and broke a streak of 7 straight games of at least 105,000 in attendance... Buth Reynolds, an Akron native, was honored as the honorary captain... Former fullback and points factory Pete Johnson was honored at halftime as part of the 2007 class to the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame... Under Tressel, the Buckeyes are now 49-3 when leading at the half.

Michigan Proving Last Week Was No Fluke

defeat_lloyd21.jpg This man deserves a lifetime contract

With a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Lloyd's boys are getting waxed 39-7 by an Oregon team that gave up 545 yards to Houston last week. I admit I was about 1% disappointed that UM lost last week because of the fuel it gave the pundits who constantly dog the conference but now that the damage is done it's fun watching the wheels fall off this squad. I might even send Lloyd a thank you note as he is single handedly increasing demand for our latest masterpiece in the shop. (excuse the shameless plug)

Worse than the score, the body language seems to reveal a team that has quit on its season and its coach. From a Buckeye perspective, it's a shame all this will likely lead to Lloyd resigning or being fired at the end of the season but you can't keep a coach once his team has quit on him, ask John Cooper. I guess the editors over at TIME magazine forgot about Lloyd when they recently produced their list of the 50 Worst Car(r)'s of All Time.

Preview: #11 OSU vs. Akron

Straight Bangin’Ah, Akron.. '75.. Good times..
Ohio State Buckeyes #11 Ohio State 1-0, 0-0 Big Ten Roster | Schedule 12:00 PM ET ------ Ohio Stadium Columbus, OH Akron Akron 1-0, 0-0 MAC Roster | Schedule

Opponent: The Sweater Vest Love Fest 2007 Stadium Tour continues as the Buckeyes once again square off against a school that Jim Tressel has a special connection to. Tressel started his coaching career as an Akron graduate assistant in 1975 and then got a paying gig with school to take care of the offensive backs and kicking game for 3 seasons before moving on to Miami (OH). Toss in the fact that the Zips were the opponent that first Saturday of The Vest's Ohio State career which also was the first weekend the renevated Shoe was open for business and.. And you can see we're searching for reasons to hype these guys up.

Akron is probably a middle of the pack MAC team. Yoda calls for them to finish 5th in the MAC East conference, slightly ahead of the juggernaut that is Temple football. Considering Steele lives in the heart of MAC country, we'll defer to him. The good news for Zips fans: the Zips return 8 starters on the defensive side of the ball, including their top 6 tacklers from the last season. The bad news: a brand new quarterback and 4 new offensive linemen.

Fine Bowl CutJacquemains bowl-cut brings
all the babes to the yard

Sophomore Chris Jacquemain (#11) got the bulk of the snaps at quarterback and turned in a decent performance going 14/24 for 125, 1 score and no picks in the Zips' 22-14 victory over Army at Cleveland Browns Stadium last week. If you're quick with math, you know that his yards-per-completion was a meager 5.2. Jacquemain seems to have a go-to guy in senior wide receiver Jabari Arthur (#12) as he caught 11 of the quarterback's passes for 125 yards including a 19 yarder that the two hooked up for 6 on.

The new offensive line only allowed 1 sack to Army, but the team only picked up 133 yards rushing on 35 carries, an average of 3.8 per carry. Amazingly, 7 different Zips rushed the ball last week but Dennis Kennedy (#3), a former Buckeye recruit that failed to qualify in 2004, led the team with 13 carries for 72 yards. Kennedy, a junior, paced the Zips with 999 yards rushing and 9 touchdowns last season and considering the fact that he was on his way to becoming a Buckeye, you know he's got skills.

On defense, Akron employs a "Mustang" 3-3-5, a cousin of the 46 defense, which presents opportunities to run on it. Army's McMahand, who's no Beanie Wells (or even Michael Wiley for that matter) had 21 for 84 last week. The Zips are strongest in the middle of the defense with junior linebacker Kevin Grant (#30) and senior backer Brian Stokes (#43). In the secondary, the Zips go 5-9, 5-10, 5-10 and 5-11, so Taurian Washington, Hartline and Robo, all at least 6-2 should be able to pose some matchup problems in the passing game.

Notes: Akron is 1-5 all-time against OSU, the last win coming in 1894... The Zips are 0-9 in their last 9 games against Big Ten teams being outscored 44-7 on average... Akron was 2-7-1 against The Vest during his days at YSU... Ohio State put up 525 yards of offense against the Zips in their last meeting in 2001.

Buckeye Breakdown: After one game, Buckeye fans are starting to feel good about the quarterback situation, which was a big unknown heading into this season. What fans are concerned about now is the running game after the lackluster performance the unit turned in against Youngstown State. Bollman and the coaching staff sent a message to the line by not awarding the Jim Parker outstanding lineman award following the YSU game. As others have pointed out, the The Vest didn't exactly open up the playbook against the Penguins last week. He could have easily called some pitch plays when the Bucks had the ball down on the goal line to leverage the OSU speed advantage on the corners, but instead called middle of the line running plays to get the hogs the work they obviously need. I'm willing to give the guys the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it is hard getting up to play a I-AA opponent. If so, Akron is their chance for redemption. If the line and running game sputters again against the Zips, expect there to be some nail-biting among the Buckeye faithful in the week leading up to the Washington game.

Running back Beanie Wells was very hard on himself for last week's performance according to his teammates and the coaching staff. Much like the O-line situation, Akron is a prefet chance to get on track. I'd be very surprised if he struggled through another weekend of rushing the football. If he does, then Saine deserves more looks to push the big fella a little harder.

Chris Wells100 yards or we take your red suit

As mentioned, the Buckeye receivers could have a huge day against the vertically-challenged Akron defensive backs. Ohio State will have the air option when needed, but should look to pound the ball and work on fixing the problems with the running game. If the Zips stack the box, watch out. Tressel indicated that sophomore burner Ray Small could see his first action of the season and he participated in practice this week without the aid of a colored no-contact jersey. His role is important if the Bucks hope to stretch the field against better quality opponents down the road. Small needs to get healthy because Taurian Washington may be in his mirror, closer than he appears. The return of Small and the emergence of Washington could mean less playing time for Dane Sanzenbacher, which is good because you don't win national championships with wide receivers that are 5-10/175 (wet).

On the defensive side of the ball, Ohio State has an opportunity to tune their pressure game given the relative inexperience of Akron's quarterback and offensive line. Both Robert Rose and Cameron Heyward will get a chance to prove to the coaching staff that they are deserving of filling Wilson's shoes at the end spot. I know there's a lot of love going around for Heyward because he's Ironhead's son, but Rose is a sack machine in the making. Expect Little Animal to be everywhere again and watch for Anderson Russell to quiet the yapping of his teammates by getting his hands on a pick-six.

You can bet the coaching staff had no problem motivating the team this week after what happened in Ann Arbor last weekend. Welcome to the modern world of (somewhat) parity. If a team ins't prepared and ready for the test, they can lose on any given Saturday. Yes, even you, USC. The game plan will be similar to what we saw last weekend: work on the things that need work, get snaps for a lot of players, get the "W", try to avoid injuries and eliminate the mental mistakes.

Notes: Tressel says that he was rooting for Michigan last weekend... Akron native and current OSU speed coordinator Butch Reynolds will be the game's honorary captain... Tressel will be attempting to earn his 199th career victory against the Zips... The game will be the 499th contest at the Horseshoe... OSU has scored at least 1 touchdown in 126 consecutive games... Hottie Charissa Thompson will handle BTN sideline duties again for the Buckeye game... Ohio State last lost to an in-state opponent in 1921 when Oberlin defeated the Buckeyes 7-6 (full disclosure: the future Mrs. 11W is an Oberlin grad and urged the inclusion of this point).

Against The Spread - Week 2

Scooter McDougle Scooter McPointShaver: looks guilty to me

After going 3-0 against the number last week, I've been having delirious visions of giving up this 11W thang and starting up one of those 800# gambling advice services. Lord knows it would take far less time and I wouldn't get exposed nearly as much for not being funny. Jason posted a 2-1 record against the number thanks to Syracuse's pathetic home effort against Washington. It's no wonder the 'Cuse can't recruit. I wouldn't put on that uniform if on Fear Factor. A man's gotta have some pride.

Anyway, Week 2 is upon us and the slate of games is pretty enticing. Since I couldn't round up any worthy guests from Akron, I decided to invite Scooter McDougle to be this week's celebrity picker. In case his name doesn't ring a bell, he's the RB from the Zips' MAC brethren Toledo Rockets that the FBI says is heavily involved in the point shaving scandal hanging over the program. Of course, he says he's done nothing wrong but judging from his picture, he's been receiving illegal pastry handouts for years.

Now on to the picks:

Oregon (+8) @ Michigan (ABC 3:30) This could be another tight one as Oregon brings their spread offense to the Big House. After watching Appy State's spread make the Maize and Blue look Dazed and Confused en route to the biggest upset in the history of mankind, Wolverine Nation is holding its collective breath wondering if Lloyd's crew can figure out how to stop the Ducks. Luckily for Carr, Oregon's defense is about as solid as your great grandmother's stool so putting up 40+ points is highly possible. If Houston can put up 545 total yards, what can UM do? Speaking of Oregon, let me quickly thank Mike Belotti for turning down Ohio State paving the way for Gentleman Jim to take over. U Da Man, Mike.

Chris: I expect a fired up Michigan squad to cover. Michigan 42, Oregon 31 Jason: I think Michigan will bounce back with a W, but Oregon and 8 is too ripe to pass on. Michigan 31-28. McPointShaver: I called in a few connections so I'll say UM 3, Oregon 2. That won't be too obvious, will it?

Notre Dame (+17) @ Penn State (ESPN 6:00) I wonder what excuses Fat Charlie will have for us this week? I hope he doesn't tell the one about how Anthony Morelli is a great quarterback. My ribs can't take anymore spastic laughter.

Chris: I heard a rumor the State fans are planning to throw bacon at Weis. Penn State 34, ND 9 Jason: Penn State in a laugher. The crowd will be insane and when the dust settles, PSU 42-10. McPointShaver: I wanted to go Notre Dame but was told they didn't need my help throwing games. PSU 40, ND 0.

TCU (+9) @ Texas (7:00) Can the Horned Frogs go into Texas and pull the upset? According to the poll at BevoSports, 54% of Texas fans are "very worried" after last week's lackluster effort against Arkansas State.

Chris: I don't know about an upset, but TCU could easily cover. Texas 23-17. Jason: The Horns should be counting their blessings that this one is in Austin. Texas 20-10. McPointShaver: Readin' the police blotter, I gotta say those Longhorns sound like my kinda fellas. Texas 24-10.

Virginia Tech (+12.5) @ LSU (9:15 ESPN) Easily the marquee matchup of the week featuring two of the best defenses in the country. Can Va Tech hang around in a night game in the Bayou?

Chris: I don't think Beamer's crew has the offensive firepower to hang around. LSU 27, Tech 10. Jason: Two weeks ago, I thought this would be close. Now, it's LSU in a laugher, 35-17. McPointShaver: Sorry fellas. Gotta jet. 5-0 on the doorstep...

11W Mix Tape: No Award For You Edition

11W Mix Tape

Bollman Snubs the Hogs
The Ohio State coaching staff handed out awards for the win over Youngstown State and the Jim Parker offensive lineman award went unclaimed. Offensive coordinator and line coach Jim Bollman felt that none of the lineman deserved to win based on the game film. That's refreshing. I thought I was watching some kind of magic television that turned the play of "a veteran unit" into a line that couldn't open a hole against a physically overmatched defense. The Vest has Bollman's back:

".. I just don't think we were as far along as Coach Bollman wants us and I'm okay with that."

Other Buckeyes honored were Brian Robiskie as offensive player of the week, James Laurinaitis as defensive player of the week and Ryan Pretorius as special teams player of the week. Sophomore defensive tackle Dexter Larimore, a guy Tress is big on, took home the "Attack Force" award after getting 25-30 snaps.

No Matter Where You Go, There You Are
Another fine Georgia blog, Get The Picture, takes a look at the effect of the rule changes through the first weekend of games. The missing plays are back to the tune of 56 extra yards and 3 points per game, but the average kickoff return is only 21.1 after hovering just beneath 21 for the past four seasons. To be fair, touchbacks are down from 84% last season to 79% this season.

We Want to Let This Die, but this Bit is Relevant
As expected, former Wolverine and present Indianapolis Colt Marlin Jackson claims to be getting a lot of flak for the Michigan collapse against ASU:

"We lost to a I-AA program, and we were a top-five team. To go out and be the first team in history to lose to a I-AA team, it hurts. That's all I've been getting the last couple of days. Every text message I get just says `Appalachian State.' That's all it says. The Ohio State guys have been all right. It's everybody else around here. Even coach (Tony) Dungy said something to me about it."

Gonzo, Pittcock and Hall -- class acts.

Updated BlogPoll Ballot: Week 1

Before we get to the brief changes from the first draft released Monday, I need to know that I'm not going crazy. Perhaps I'm giving us all too much credit, but I'm not so sure Michigan would have fallen out of the two polls if the blogs didn't start that discussion. Blogs have been influencing political news cycles for some time now and as the sports corner of the blogosphere matures, it's only natural for some of that to happen over here. Maybe I am crazy.. I'm just saying..

Anyway, just a slight change from our first draft to our final week 1 ballot as Georgia Tech, one of the teams we were dying to see crack the top 25, gets in thanks to Florida State's terrible showing at Clemson. Jimbo Fisher just added 3 more years to his wait to become a head coach with one game. 8 first downs and 3 of 17 on 3rd down. Wow. So, FSU is out, Georgia Tech is in and Clemson gets added to the list of teams on the cusp.

As always, you can check the ballots of every voter and the final version is due Wednesday morning, so get your thoughts in by Tuesday night if you think we got it wrong.

1 USC You know you're good when a 38-10 win is considered sluggish. --
