Is it Saturday Yet's picture

Def going to watch Sparty and Wisc game, but I'm dividing my time between pumpkin hunting/carving, pumpkin show and the new PS3 game.

I'm heading to Oxford, MS to see Arkansas beat up Houston Nutt and Ole Miss. It's not the Buckeyes, but it is college football. And with a pre-noon (ET) start, it'll be over long before Wiscy and Sparty exchange fisticuffs in prime time.

Two words: The Grove.

Pro: An inordinate number of beautiful women getting sloppy drunk.

Con: Most are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Super-con: Most are looking for an MRS degree. So be careful. It makes for a lot of them playing "hard to get", or worse yet you could find a "Stage 5 clinger".

These results surprise me.  To me, I don't ask for much.  Just give me my 13 or 14 Saturdays in the fall.  These are sacred days even if Ohio State isn't playing.  My friends/family/girlfriend can have me any other day of the year.  Just leave fall Saturdays alone.

My fiance knew when she started dating me that Saturdays in the fall are MY DAY. She can have every other day in the calendar year. Just not those days. She is more than welcome to sit on the couch with me and watch the games, but she knows better than to ask me to go shopping or fix this or that around the apartment. Notgonnahappen on a football Saturday. I'll forego going out on a Friday or watching the NFL on a Sunday to do anything she needs.... BUT NOT ON SATURDAYS. When I'm not attending a game in person, my routine is the same: wake up around 9 AM. Get a nice 8 mile run in, maybe lift a weight or too, come home and shower, and then promptly place my ass on the couch by noon, and it generally won't move until after the 8 PM game.

You can be productive every day of the week..saturdays and sundays I love watching football..it isn't a year round thing. I enjoy it while its here.

Doesn't mean I can't get a workout in or go grocery shopping if there's no decent games to watch. I think there's a happy medium or a balance you can have.
