Not only should Boren get the fumble, he should then revert to his FB mentality and run for a 43 yard TD, stiff arming the center, bowling over the QB and running through the arms of a WR as he crosses the goal line!
And all this happens on the first play from scrimmage with 14:48 left in the 1st quarter.
The question is recover not cause.I say Simon, after Williams dose all the work. It's a team thing remember.Yeah, just like life.Wahoo 9-0, only 3 more to suffer through. Then this second season from Hell will be finished.GO BUCKS!
I picked Boren, simply because the Mike Backer is going to be around the ball as much as anyone. I think a strip sack is probably just as likely, so Simon or Hank would be my second choice.
^^^ agreed, Boren is gonna be around the ball all day.... he is gonna pick it up, run for about 15 yards, break one tackle before being forced out of bounds on the opponents sideline at the 35 yard line..... book it...
Maybe not, I just read it as breaking a tackle after a 15-yd return. Can't wait to see the actual play. Either way, if it happens I'm taking DUBJAY to Vegas.
Why no "all of the above" selection? I am looking forward to a SHUTOUT and some good old fashioned Buckeye D right on through the end of the season, including a TKO of Denard in the finale.
Roby on punt block and is always around the ball on defense? With Illinois penchant for putting it on the grass (did i see 20 fumbles this season already?) I'm thinking we see a bit of the strip technique regression this week. it'll result in at least one more "WTF can't we tackle" play, and two fumbles. Roby picks one up, the other goes out of bounds.
That being said, i think we force 3 and recover 2 funbles, with a DL getting the other (I'm rooting for Spence, he keeps getting oh so close to getting a sack or stripping the ball; I want him to get rewarded for the hard work), along with 2 INTs (Roby and Bryant).
I'm bullish on this defense after 2 strong performances. I freely admit I was strongly in the "we are who we are, a bad defense" boat after Indiana. They are proving me wrong and I love it.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."

I really hope they don't return the opening kick to the 43
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Devin Smith after another great special teams tackle.
This is an ESPN question. Haha.

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
Roby's on the hands team for onside kicks. Gotta give him the edge on this one.
emotional vote for Boren.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.

I like the specificity of your prediction, even if it does seem to imply that the Illini are going to move the ball across midfield at some point.
Nah, Illini 35 + 15 is only the 50. It's not technically on our side of the field yet :)

Other, Shazier.
Damn, he isn't even on the list! Ryan Shazier is my "other" vote.

Me three.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Oops, I meant to include him, too. This is what happens when you create a poll at 5:55 in the morning.
Ryan DAMN Shazier

I'll take Doran Grant on special teams.

I voted Big Hank. Who doesnt like to see a D-tackle score.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
Somewhat related but Nathan Williams is BY FAR the most underrated player on this defense. Had a great game against Penn State, really disruptive.
I put other. I'm feeling CJ Barnett or Howard Island this week.
