Wisconsin Tickets for Sale

After last night, I'd prefer to not spend hundreds of dollars to end up in a shitty mood that weekend. Call me a pessimist, but if you're in the Cincy/Dayton area and are in need of two tickets, let me know.

Can't blame you for this decision.  This game is going to get ugly...

Real fans stay for Carmen.

It sucks that I'm put in this position, but that's the way things are going right now. I personally hope Brax sends a big "F U" my way and puts on a show for the ages.

Our fanbase is the worst part of this team. Selling tix because we'll probably lose? Yeah, that's not fair-weathered or anything.

Wow, that's a shame. My tickets to the Wisky game have been of the frige for months along with my flight info. Not for one second have I reconsidered going to that game. smh

Aero and Pam: I'm sorry if Skull Session or a walk through the Oval doesn't warm my soul leading up to an ass kicking at home on national TV (all the while having to deal with 105,000+ and dropping a couple of hundred bucks). Basically, what I'm trying to say, is mind your own damn business.

William's picture
William on 2 Oct 2011 - 11:00pm #

Thank you O-H Kee Pa, I pay for a winning product, I reserve the right to do what I want with my tickets, and do what I want in the stands. I froze my ass for four quarters in the student section last game to watch our team look like complete shit. I pay my damn tuition I can boo like Hell, which I certainly did. Give me a break, oh they're college students my ass, they're in a freaking minor league for the NFL for Christ's sake, there's a reason that they got a scholarship, and there's a reason the coaches get paid, and that's to produce and win. They're not doing much of either of that, so they honestly deserved to be booed, maybe that will motivate them, because nothing else has.

Pam's picture
Pam on 2 Oct 2011 - 11:34pm #

Then don't post stuff if you don't want to be called out for being a shitty fan.

And William, you buy a ticket, you take the chance. You are not owed a damn thing because you pay tuition especially when it is not your entitled ass out on the field getting tossed around like a pinata and getting booed for the effort.

William's picture
William on 2 Oct 2011 - 11:46pm #

Half the players out there don't look like they want to play.(Stoneburner, and Howard especially come to mind.) I'm sorry, maybe they wouldn't get tossed around like pinatas if they gave the effort to win. I cheer for the players that try (Like Hall, Hyde, Clarke, Roby, Hankins and Simon) Don't call me entitled, I earned my scholarships and have to maintain my academics to keep them, and pay for the rest that they don't cover, unlike the football players who can play like complete shit and keep theirs. Its people like you and Aero that make our fanbase so ridiculous. Don't call someone out for being a lousy fan because he/she doesn't feel like spending several hundred dollars over a weekend to watch his/her's team get the shit beat out of them. Not everyone can afford that, and if the outcome of the game will most likely not be favorable why should they spend that money. The first few commenters were completely civil on this post, for they saw this as an opportunity to get tickets, instead you and Aero had to jump on the poster and call them a lousy fan. Don't call me entitled, I'm sorry that I expect our team to win and perform well, I thought the purpose of sports was to win, I must be wrong.

Pam's picture
Pam on 2 Oct 2011 - 11:59pm #

If someone is selling a ticket, they already paid for it which means they coiuld afford it. They are selling it because they are lousy fans. If you think you are owed a win because you pay tutition, that makes you entitled.

William:

First, I ask that you calm down. There's no need for any of us (and that does include Pam and Aero) to call any of us out. Let's not talk maliciously here, guys and gals.

Second, I ask that you appreciate what you have. I live in Southern California and every weekend I wish I could get out there to Columbus, Ohio to support our boys, even if it means I have to watch us get beat. Just the opportunity to see an Ohio State game at the Horseshoe is so special, regardless of the result of the game. I wish for you to understand that. I am not calling you out, talking down to you, or disrespecting you. I just wish you understand where I am coming from. Don't take what you have for granted. Personally, I wish I could be at every home game even when we kind of suck like we have this year. Maybe you will see what I am saying one day when or if you don't live nearby The Ohio State University.

On another note, you're talking like these kids are professionals. This is still amateur athletics, dude!

Does it make someone a shitty fan because they aren't going to attend the game?  I applaud you for dropping a small fortune to go to the game Pam, but I think it's a bit harsh calling someone's fanhood out because they don't want to spend the several hundred dollars a game day would cost.  Obviously you are spending quite a bit to come to the game if you are flying in, and that's great.  It's wonderful to have fans like you.  For me, I would honestly have a hard time holding on to tickets if I had them.  Someone like me, the 300 or 400 bucks a game day costs me is really significant to my budget.  So, it's quite an event for me to go to a game.  I enjoy the game day experience and a big part of that is seeing a great team play a great game(even if they lose), in a great atmosphere like the shoe.  I have to ask myself though, would that expense be worth it this year?  For me, no. If they win I would regret not going to the game, but I think that this particular game, they probably lose, and the "great" atmosphere will be more like 105,000 people bitching for 3 hours.  I have a limited enterainment budget and while aspects of the day will be great, the overall experience will not be as good as in years and games past.

I still hate the booing though.  I agree these aren't your typical college kids and they have quite an entitlement attitude of their own, but I just don't like booing in general.  Even pro sports.  A team that is already flat and emotionally low, doesn't need it's "loyal" fan base jeering them to make them feel even more like shit.

William's picture
William on 3 Oct 2011 - 12:13am #

No Pam I'm saying that we should expect wins because these "Kids" are given a scholarship to perform and to win, they aren't playing football at Miami(OH) or Ohio University, they're playing at Ohio State. Jake, I understand what you're saying but I spent my entire life living in the South (NC), I'm not taking being here on Campus for granted, I go to Skull Sessons, watch the band enter and I stay to sing Carmen Ohio. I enjoy all of it, except for when our players and coaches go out there, and play/coach flat and give up on the game. Also Jake lets be honest, College Football is a free Minor League for the NFL, these "kids" are far from amateurs.

Aren't players at Ohio U and Miami given scholarships to play and win football games too?

William's picture

Yes they are Btalbert, but they aren't of the same caliber as most OSU recruits, and their programs aren't expected to win like OSU's. That point was poorly worded on my part.

I get what you are saying.  I still don't care for booing, but I do have to wonder after seeing the current and former Buckeyes tweet about the game last night, how the hell some of these "student athletes" made it into and through college.  Was it Reed who used the word "sum" 2 times instead of some.  Of course any time you point out that these guys are mostly not student athletes someone says Craig Krenzel!  I don't believe too many of the players are all that concerned with school though, despite academics being the first thing all the guys say they are looking for in a school lol.

Again, I am sorry for offending anyone.

This is unbelievable. You guys are offended because you got called out? I don't care what anyone does with their tickets, but don't act like hardcore fans that will stick with the team throughout. You're a different kind of fan, fine. That is your right. But don't we deserve to call you out and boo your ass just as you feel like you have the right to boo this team. The irony is that you guys have given up on the team because you feel like the team has given up on you.

Regardless, I too will apologize for implying some of us are "fair-weathered" and adding angst to this site. You buy the ticket, you can obviously do what you like with it. And you obviously have every right to express your displeasure with the team.

I just implore everyone to continue to support the team in the most productive manner possible.

Aero: actually, your post is unbelievable. I never said I have the right to boo the team! I don't feel like dealing with 105,000+ people, dropping hundreds of dollars, and being in a negative atmosphere after we lose. If that makes me a shitty fan, then so be it. I look at it as being a realist. I'm an OSU grad, and am anything but a fair weather fan. But, be self-righteous and call me out, because it's what I "deserve." Got it.

O-H Kee PA, I'm an OSU grad too, paid out-of-state tuition to attend. Live in Indianapolis and make the 3 hour drive back and forth to every game. I'm not saying my opinion is more valid than your own, but by definition, you're a fair weather fan. You would have gone to the game if you felt we would likely win, or be very competitive. Since you don't feel that way anymore, you're choosing not to go. That's fine. In my opionion, and I think by definition, that makes you a band wagon jumper.

But whatever, we can agree to disagree. I have no ill feelings towards you or anyone else who decides not to go to a game that they were going to go to because they now may not get the result that they were counting on.

I'm a homer, I cheer and attend games whenever the Buckeyes play, suck or not. I don't expect others to be that way, but don't get upset for getting called out.

Paid out of state tuition, too. I'm not mad at being called out; I think your postings are absolutely ridiculous, and pretty much hit the nail on the head of where our fan base is right now. I'm not a homer. I call it like I see it. I knew for the past couple of years that the other shoe would drop eventually (I, like others, didn't expect it to drop in the manner in which it did). I recognize that this is part of the natural ebb and flow of a college football program. I've sat through many losses in person. Put quite simply, I'm enjoying the lowered expectations for a season. I'm enjoying the decreased stress, and not having a loss ruin my weekend. Sorry; I can think of better things to do than sit in the Shoe with the bluehaireds in A deck, Block O being their usual underwhelming selves, and watching a game that will raise my blood pressure.

Opinions are like assholes; everyone has one. So, if it makes you more comfortable to label me as fair weather, go right ahead. You pegged me. I'm guilty.

P.S. I'm on OSU's Arts and Sciences Alumni Committee. Because, as you've stated, I just like to take from OSU and kick them to the curb when they're down.

I'm not saying anyone is in the wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs or opinions. I am just cautioning people to avoid personal attacks.

Again, let's just agree to disagree. I think you're a certain type of fan, and you think I'm a certain type. That's fine. I respect you for being a Buckeye fan all.

I will throw out a theory though...if the team believes we're actually behind them and not booing them or bailing on them, maybe that motivates them a little more? And maybe we pull out a game or two that we're not expecting to win.

You do realize this could have been avoided had the post said nothing but, "Wisconsin tickets for sale, if you're in the Cincy/Dayton area and are in need of two tickets, let me know".  Hindsight, I know....

Our tailgate gang is doing costumes for pre-game festivities that week.  I'm going to the game but now considering how to be a zombie O-Lineman, or maybe wear a Shugarts jersey and constantly start to interrupt everyone.  <sigh>    Kidding... kinda...

Anyone going to Nebraska? Cya there!
