As many of you know MrCarson was downvoted into oblivion on this thread for some comments made from his prespective as a m*chigan fan. None of these comments violated the commenting policy.
Hodge said it best:
------I don't understand what MrCarson did to get banned. All he did was basically say the same thing a lot of us have been saying--that this is a non story. Sure, his tone was argumentative, but if he were a Buckeye fan, there's no way he gets that.
"What is your definition of recent? Sure, this particular blog entry was published two weeks ago, but these events happened in 2009."
This post has 13 downvotes. How in the hell is this violating the comment policy?
"And of course, rather than attempt to formulate an intelligent response, people downvote like crazy. Soon, I won't be able to comment and the mods will do nothing, which is exactly why there are fewer and fewer differing opinions on this site anymore. It's a real shame.
While I don't care for the bashing of the mods (I suppose it could be construed as "being a jerk"), he's bringing up a hell of a point: if we downvote opinions that challenge our own, this site takes over a hive-mind mentality. If someone challenges your opinion, argue back--don't downvote the guy for speaking up. Sure, he's a Michigan fan. Sure, most of us would get banned in an instant at MgoBlog for similar comments, but we're better than that.-------- Sorry, I could not fit it into a block quote.
MrCarson currently has -140 helmet stickers. Scarlet_Lutefisk came up with this idea. We should go on a rally and just upvote the hell out of him to the point where he can post again but make sure to not give him too many. I don't have much typing room left so here is his profile. MrCarson. I hope this works out.
