Look it sounds basic enough, and lame enough but its true. Most of us come on 11w because we want to get away from the ESPN, and Yahoo's of the world where trolls live. I'm stating this not just the Quick Bits from yesterday, but overall. If someone is acting like a troll do not engage them because that is their goal in life to piss you off so don't let it get to you.
Don't get me wrong there are good arguments, but if you, or the person you are arguing with, starts stooping down to the level that a 4th grade boy would, then move one. If you get into an argument that stoops down to that level, its petty and no one really cares about whose mom likes who better.
I know it sounds like I'm whining about it, but I want 11w to be as great as I know it can be, and the petty arguments make actual discussion extremely hard. For the betterment of 11w stop engaging trolls. Downvote them until they no longer can commet, but don't engage them it will just make you angry and everyone who subsequently has to read the comments, angry.

most of us who have been on here a while try to ignore the idiocy that happens on most of the posts. We try to communicate with people we know more on here or communicate with the occassional reply, but those back and forths that make it difficult to want to read, I try to avoid as best as possible.
although sometimes you just want to argue with someone and get riled up on purpose.

To the OP - I'm not going to argue like the supreme court on here but if I wanted serious arguments, thats where I'd start.
I'm referring more to arguments that involve the 4th grade name calling and such. Don't get me wrong there are times a stupid argument is what it is, but when I come on I don't want to read, "Well your a (insert any word for vagina here)"

There was a guy here yesterday who was obviously trolling, I did engage him by asking if he was a guy who went by another name prior to his very obvious trollish styled posts from yesterday. He proceeded to insult my mother & I told him to have a good day & that was that.
So, yes I agree that feeding the trolls is a bad idea & do my part not to. I think we all do pretty much, but I do understand it when there is a particularly vile troll that folks would get a little fired up. Human nature and all...
