Both of the West Palm Beach (Dwyer HS) stars visited Ohio State this summer and were scheduled to make official visits to Columbus this weekend. ESPN.com's Brad Bournival tweeted a few moments ago that Boone would not be visiting. That is not a huge surprise as it's a longshot the Buckeyes would have room for Boone, but the question of how that impacts Dixon, who Ohio State is still actively recruiting and wanting, had to be asked. So I asked Dixon if Boone not coming meant anything re: his own visit. He was surprised to even hear that Boone was not coming, but seemed a bit disappointed at the news.
"I didn't know that (he wasn't visiting,)" Dixon told me via text. "I want him to come, we took most of our visits together."
Boone, for his part, said that he's not 100-percent sure that he's not visiting, so I guess there's still some wiggle room.
"No, I'm not sure," Boone said when I asked if he was for sure not visiting. "(Ohio State) hasn't contacted me about it yet."
Interesting to say the least, Bournival is one of the best in the business so if he's heard that the Boone visit is a no-go, then it's likely the case and I think that will likely impact Dixon as well.
