Blacknall Picks Rutgers (Scout)
Englishtown (N.J.) Manalapan receiver Saeed Blacknall ended his recruitment by committing to Rutgers during an unofficial visit to campus Saturday. The four-star player is the No. 13 receiver prospect in the 2014 class.
The circuitous recruitment of four-star Englishtown (N.J.)Manalapan receiver Saeed Blacknall came to an end in a familiar place Saturday, and 30 minutes from his home.
Blacknall confirmed his commitment in a text to ScarletReport.com.
Blacknall ended his recruitment by committing to the Scarlet Knights during a visit to campus. He was also considering LSU, Alabama and Ohio State. It was his second straight Saturday on the Rutgers campus, and during the latest visit he took in the scrimmage and spent time speaking with Rutgers receiver Brandon Coleman, who did not participate.
There has been a lot of talk going around discussing the recruitment of Aliquippa star Dravon Henry regarding where he stands with his recruitment. Most of the talk came when PREPS.COM’s own @WPIAL_Insider tweeted about the lack of communication between Pitt and Dravon Henry. Pitt fans started to uproar once the news broke, some saying it is false, some saying we fabricated the story. Let us be clear, this information is FACTUAL, but the question posed is: Should Pitt fans be worried about the lack of communication for Pitt’s prized recruit?
For most of the summer Malik McDowell’s football future was fodder for a great deal of speculation. Much of that talk subsided earlier this week after the MHSAA officially cleared the former Detroit Loyola star to compete for Southfield High.
The normally stoic youngster couldn’t hide his excitement when asked to forecast just how good a defense that pairs him with future Michigan defensive end Lawrence Marshall will be.
“I shouldn’t (face double teams) at all,” McDowell said jubilantly. “That’s going to be a problem for the opposing team.”
