I was reading a free article about the top dual-threat QBs for the 2015 class, and thought some people might find this interesting:
Look For- Nunez or Gibson, even though it is an early prediction, to end up at Ohio State, perhaps both. Nunez fits the mold of what the Buckeyes have had/do have at quarterback (similar to Braxton Miller or a JT Barrett) and is a more polished passer, but Gibson has freakish athletic ability and speed. He’s the type of guy that you just teach to throw the ball if he wants to play quarterback because he’s so dynamic in the run game. Credit Ohio State with identifying and offering these two early. It’s yet another sign that Urban Meyer and staff are serious about winning national titles in Columbus.
For those who don't know or care about 2015 recruiting yet (and I don't blame you if so), Lorenzo Nunez (Kennesaw, GA) and Torrance Gibson (Fort Lauderdale, FL) are considered two of the top 5 dual-threat QBs in the country next year, and 247 believes that not only is OSU the presumptive early leader for both, but that OSU could even potentially land both in the same class. Not likely of course, but if so that'd be unheard of. Kyler Murray (Allen, TX) is considered by most to be the top dual-threat QB in the 2015 class, but is a Texas A&M lean at the moment -- however, OSU is said to be one of the 4 other programs he's interested in.
As mentioned, I realize it's early and most aren't looking forward to the 2015 class yet, but thought this 247 article was a fun early primer for those curious about where OSU might be looking to go with their QB recruiting in the future. We're, fantastically, considered the early favorites for 2 of the best dual-threat QBs in the country, and just on the outside looking in at (what's believed to be) the best. This is one of many reasons why I didn't fret about QB recruiting in the 2014 class. We landed an awesome QB, and possibly even better person in Stephen Collier, and the fact that OSU didn't take a top 10 QB in 2014 makes OSU all the more appealing to the top dual-threat QBs in 2015. Exciting times!
