Clearly shows how much they want Knox....
Meechy...come home! GO BUCKS!!!
"I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying."

I want this kid bad. We need him at guard our current depth there is pathetic. Gonna be an OSU vs UCLA battle most likely. Best of luck in your decision Meech!!!(Hope its the good guys)
Saw this on twitter recently. I have gotten the feeling that Meechy felt he's not gotten the love from the staff the same way maybe he had from UCLA or others. I could be wrong - that was just my perception on the subject from reading what I have. If that were the case, it looks like they are attempting to let him know he's indeed wanted, and needed. Whether it's the stuff I've read here, or what I've seen & heard about how well he plays the game, I truly hope he makes the decision to be a Buckeye. With who has already committed + Eleumunor & Knox, that would have to be arguably the finest OLine haul ever at OSU.
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Just imagine getting this from 20+ schools everyday. Sirius college sports had a topic on this the other day and many clearly feel an early signing period will be implemented soon, just to minimize some of the heavy recruiting.
I'd think, we can probably ask Mr. Knox, if a recruit were to ask a school not to contact or to stop recruiting they would. If you're that school, unless you are that hard up, itd only make sense to reroute resources to prospects which they have a better shot at landing. Just my $.02
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
I bet most will back off if you ask them to, but my guess is there are probably some that hang on like a crazy ex-girlfriend and no matter what will not leave you alone or stop calling you or writing you 30 letters a day just because there might be an ever so slight chance that you change their mind about them.
You're exactly right, TennBuckeye. Just like the frickin collection agencies that keep badgering me night and day. So annoying. SMH.
Two blondes were driving to Disneyland. The sign said: Disneyland Left... So they started crying and headed home.
If you thought we might only take 4 OL, think again.
I have always been under the impression they want at least 5 if not 6.
Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5...
"...Then, shalt thou count to FIVE. No more. No less. FIVE shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be FIVE. Six shalt thou not count, neither count thou four, excepting that thou then proceed to FIVE. Seven is right out. Once at the number FIVE, being the fifth number to be reached..."
But it does mean less and less likely Prince will be coming. And he's the one I want most
If true that they are only taking 1 Juco, then I think it's likely that they would take 2 other OL & I suspect the 2 biggest targets would be Prince & Knox. Maybe one of the recruiting staff members here could comment on that.
IMO it comes to 5 guys and the last one is Prince OR Knox.
@Woodshed: Yeah, I have the same feeling. I was looking at the positional depth, and I have to think OG would be the position of higher need if we get Eluemunor -- but it'd be very difficult to turn down a talent like Prince. There's also the notion that it's not impossible (or even overly difficult) to convert OTs to OGs if needed. Either way, I think our future depth (i.e. after our current JRs and SRs leave) at each position looks something like this:
OT: Decker, Dodson, Elumuenor, JJones (can play either OT/OG), Lisle, Farris, Trout
OG: MJones, JJones (same as above), Gardner (likely to play OG), Elflein, Brown
^You'd think whether Knox (OG) or Prince (OT) is the bigger priority would depend a little on whether they feel like 1 or more of the players recruited at OT can move down to OG, as we seem kind of sparse there in my estimation. Obviously they'd like to take both, and it's next to impossible to pass on a guy like Prince (in fact, I really doubt they would regardless if he wants in) but who knows whether the numbers will work out for it. If we get Eluemunor, though, I'm almost convinced JJones moves down to OG. If we get Prince as well, I think it becomes a certainty. Just my two cents.
IMO you take Prince if he wants in. We could probably pass on a wideout/Ath if Prince really wanted in. He's the best tackle out there.
Kid has the passion to be the best. I believe he will be ripping apart wolverines for the Buckeyes when it is all said and done!

I sure hope so, but I have a feeling he is UCLA's to lose at this point :/
I really like the fact that it looks like he opened up each letter.
Come on big fella, you know where you're wanted.

That is cool. I'm glad a good kid like Knox has the attention of our whole staff. They see what we all see. Want what we all want. And hope what we all hope.
Bury me in my away jersey, with my buckeye blanket. A diehard who died young. Rip dad.
The Knox situation is puzzling to me. As far as I can see it, Knox and OSU seem made for each other. We badly need vicious OLs that can play right away, and Knox (I feel) is looking for a team on which he will see the field quickly. Check. Knox loves OSU (quite understandably) and would not mind blocking for one of the greatest backfields in CB, which OSU provides. We at Buckeye Nation have shown Know clearly how much we like and respect him. I have full respect for the direction in which UCLA's program is headed and I think the Bruins will continue to improve. Still, I wonder specifically what the compelling argument for UCLA is.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Agree. Odd. Meech seems to love OSU, professed no matter where he goes he will be a "Buckeye For Life" yet says UCLA leads. Perhaps an elaborate misdirection play? I'd like Meech, Prince, Jermaine and maybe one other OL if we have room.
Buckeye For Life
I think he knows the general program better at UCLA - both staff and players and maybe he thinks that he will get more spotlight and PT, which will allow him to better develop and prepare for the NFL. I understand our OL situation, but I think Knox would have more competition at OSU. This is both a good thing and bad thing and that's for him to figure out among everything else.
Been playing in Texas. Can't discount the weather aspect. Some people just can't stand the cold. Seems trivial, but it could be a factor.
Buckeye born and bred. Buckeye til I'm dead.
That's true about people just hating the cold. As for me, I think Ohio has some of the best weather around. You get a solid four seasons, not a lot of other places can say that. As soon as you start to get sick of the cold, spring arrives. Likewise with the heat of summer. For me, it's the perfect balance and rotation.
Maybe Meechy wants to get into acting after football? You ever think of that? Football careers are very short and acting would be hard to attain in C-bus. But, they do have earthquakes too. So there's that.
Ucla might be in the drivers seat now to land the southern cal talent because of the issues at USC.
I wonder how many people blows up on this kid when goes to UCLA? I joke I joke I kid I kid.. Had few drinks tonight.
Hey Meechy just a heads up, you might wanna black out your address on the letters before you post it on twitter. There are crazy people/fans out there that could use that in a very bad way
I posted the pic of Knox's mail along with this tweet showing a gift that Quincy Wilson got At The Opening form Damon Webb:

Plus a whole lot of other The Opening related stuff in my thread THE OPENING: A FINAL RECAP way earlier...
Ok, ok, which one of you creeps are sending him mail now... Come on guys!?
I would love to land Meechy. He has shown he is a high class guy throughout the whole process, and he is the type of guy I want on our team. With that being said, if Prince wants in, I feel like you can't tell him no. I agree that we could pass on an ATH to make room for another top OL. With the haul of playmakers we brought in last year, as well as the ones already committed this year, (and still waiting on Lattimore and Samuel), I think we need to take advantage of such a potential depth changing class at OL.
Loving all things Buckeye from SEC country in Alabama.
"How firm thy friendship....O-HI-O"
See that is how it should be done. You hear of these stories about recruits getting bulk mail from a program, something like 700 pieces, and really all that is needed is a letter from each coach specifically talking about whatever the letter says. I assume each letter here is about congratulating him for the Opening and how well he did.
on a side note, I thought you canceled your twitter account Meech? maybe I have it mixed up with another player.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
Please tell me that none of them said, "YOU'RE A BALLER!!!".
and that none were written in crayon
The crayons left with bollman and his game day coloring books. That what I assume he did on gameday. Color, or knit tress some new sweater vests.
I think Vrabel burned all the coloring books and crayons.
Yep. Tossed 'em right out the window with Bollman.
Recycled them for his Second and Seven Foundation to give to second graders where they properly belong. I believe their goal is to have an OSU football player read to every second grader in Columbus and give them a book. This needs to be touted to the Bianchis/Mark Mays of the world.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
hey I think that one on top is mine.....open that one first meechy
^ best post ever ^
So Big Meech and the OSU staff are keeping the USPS postal workers employed?! Hardly nobody pays their bills by paper check anymore. This has to help.
