After last nights verbal commitment of Artavis Scott, I couldn't help but think WOW they are getting some talent down there in Death Valley! Deshaun Watson throwing to both Scott and Demarre Kitt will be a dynamic passing game.
Then I looked back at their recruiting classes. In the past 3 years they have only 8 commits on the Oline, most of which are 2 and 3 stars. Since 2012 they only have 8 Dline commits, a few are 4 stars. Talk about hoping each recruit pans out! By the time the 2014 class comes in, there will be maybe 6 players who will have at the most ONE year of experience. It could be possible that non will have starting experience.
Now I don't care too much about star ratings but only 16 linemen for offense and defense. Where is the beef? If they have a few injuries, they are in trouble.
I don't see any scenario where Watson isn't going to be running for his life. They better start getting some stud linemen soon or all that athletic talent will go to waste.
Just to compare, OSU has currently 11 scholarship Dlinemen on the team roster. 13 Oline. That is 24 scholarship linemen currently on the team. Most of whom are AWESOME!
