I was wondering if Miles, Jeremy or the staff (i.e. Gene in a Quick Bits story I might have missed) had any info regarding how Solomon Thomas's recent visit to OSU went? The reason I ask is because at Bucknuts a pretty respected user from Texas posted one of those take it FWIW, I "ran into his coach" kind of stories regarding Solomon Thomas.
You can read it here if interested. It's posted as non-VIP info, so anyone can read it.
For those who'd like a brief summary:
User says he ran into Solomon Thomas's coach. The coach told him that OSU might be a bigger factor than people think, that Thomas "REALLY likes" OSU, and the user got the feeling that Thomas isn't the Texas lean everyone's assumed. Instead, he got the feeling that it could ultimately be a Stanford/OSU battle for Thomas down the line, especially if OSU can get another visit from him.
^I thought it was interesting for a couple of reasons: 1) To this point everyone's assumed Thomas is all Texas (even Jordan from 11w on his 247 prediction, with the exception of the last prediction placed for Thomas by Barton Simmons on June 12th [he chose Stanford, a sign of things to come?]), but if not the case, OSU could definitely be a real threat for him. 2) The fact that Thomas brought his family to OSU for his visit (at least I remember reading that he did, I could be wrong on that) is sometimes a good sign that there might be more interest there than people assume. 3) Thomas is a SSDE. Many assumed we wouldn't take another DE after Holmes, but Holmes is a WSDE, so I don't see any reason why that would eliminate OSU from going for a guy that is a top40 player EVERYWHERE, at a different DE position, if he's interested in OSU.
Just some thoughts to spice-up your weekday, hope you guys don't mind. I'm curious if the 11w staff feels that he's as much a Texas lock as many recruiting writers do, or if as Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber might say, "So you're telling me there's a chance."
