As many of you know, my fiance gave birth to a healthy baby boy a few days ago, we left the hospital earlier today and can't be any more proud. Now that we have all settled in and Bentley (my little Buckeye's name) is content, I will start to catch up starting back to Tuesday leading up to the present. Enjoy my long thread.

CHICAGO - The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge saw players from across the nation descend on the Windy City but O'Fallon (Ill.) defensive end Dewayne Hendrix only had to travel a couple of hours within the state of Illinois to make it to one of the nation's premiere camps and it was well worth the trip as he was a good looking player on the field.
The 6-foot-4, 264-pounder just barely missed the cut in the Rivals100 and is ranked as the No. 103 player in the nation and the 9th rated strongside defensive end by Rivals.com and holds offers from no less than 20 schools including the Buckeyes.
Hendrix is not ready to cut down his list and admits that he won't work on making an official "cut" until near the end of his senior season and then will likely commit to his favorite sometime shortly after that. But with that being said there are still some teams that are standing out right now with Hendrix.
"I am liking everybody right now but the guys that are really standing out to me would be Tennessee, Florida, USC and Ohio State," Hendrix said. "(The schools are in) no order, they are just standing out to me."
This summer will see Hendrix get on the road to check out some of the schools and it will be important for some of these schools to get a visit if they hope to continue being in a top group with Hendrix as he tries to cut down his list and get a clearer idea of where he might like to play college football at the next level.
CHICAGO - The Ohio State recruiting effort has made some inroads in Texas under the watchful eye of offensive coordinator Tom Herman[db] and the Buckeyes have made an impression on Lewisville (Texas) safety prospect [db]Jamal Adams.
The nation's No. 39 prospect checks in at 6-foot, 199 pounds and was a force at the recent Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge. It was hard to miss Adams on the field during the 7-on-7 event, during the play as he showed off tremendous ball skills and after the play where he showed off tremendous dancing skills as he hooped and hollered and got his team pumped up as he led his squad to the championship of the event.
"It was a great experience to come out here and compete with all the top prospects in the nation," Adams said. "Getting to know these guys, they are all cool guys, with us all out here competing and having fun."
Adams did not view the trip as a vacation but more of a business trip, a trip where he wanted to get better at his skills.
"No doubt that I got better, I am getting better every day," Adams said.
Recently Adams cut his list nearly in half down to a top-12 schools and now has Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA and USC as the dozen schools he is considering. Adams would not show his hand any further when asked if any schools were standing out from that list.
A five-star Scout.com prospect, Hebron defensive back Jamal Adams is one of the most sought after recruits in the country.
On Wednesday afternoon, he took to Twitter to announce his top six, which included Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M. The schools were posted in no particular order.
Adams attended Texas’ camp this weekend and said he enjoyed his time on campus and has a strong relationship with secondary coach Duane Akina. Adams also took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M earlier this spring and said he was ‘blown away.’
With access to social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, recruits have more opportunities than ever to share their own recruiting news in new and interesting ways. Cincinnati wide receiver prospect Derek Kief took that idea one step further over the weekend when he posted a photo gallery of his unofficial visit to Alabama to his personal website.
Kief, a 6-foot-5, 197-pound prospect from Cincinnati's La Salle High School, is among the Crimson Tide's top receiver targets for the class of 2014 and Alabama is currently believed to be among the four-star prospect's favorites along with Ohio State.
