AJC published an interview with Kwon today. The biggest news is that he intends to come up for Friday Night Lights this month in addition to his visit for the Penn State game on Oct 26:
"McMillan is scheduled to go to UGA’s Dawg Night camp and Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights."
Regarding Ohio State he speaks highly of Urban, but distance is obviously a concern:
“Ohio State is really still toward the top of my list. Everybody knows that, because you can’t just stop liking somebody. You know, Coach Meyer, if he was still at Florida, I think I’d be committed to Florida right now. The distance factor (to Ohio State) isn’t playing a big role, but I am just trying to think about that I have two little brothers who are 5 and 6. I’m starting to think about them, and my family a little bit. Ohio State would be a great decision for me because I think I can get some early playing time. I’m not saying that I would take anybody’s job but I’m going there to compete. I’m not going there to sit on the bench. I know that (defensive coordinator Luke Fickell) loves me as a player, and Coach Meyer is great coach.”
"I think Alabama and Ohio State are probably my leaders, with Clemson up there, too.”
Asked if his friends' (DeSahaun Watson, Milan Richard, and Demarre Kitt) commitments to Clemson would give the Tigers the upper hand:
“Not really much. Because at the end of the day, every single one of those guys who are my friends, they are offensive players. And I’ve to go look out for myself on defense. I can’t leave myself out there like that. Yeah, they can put up 70 points but what if we’re giving up 40 points? It’s not going to be good.”
Good stuff. It feels like we aren't as far out in front as we were prior to his Bama visit, but we're still very much in the game for him. Go Bucks.
