PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
According to Kitt's twitter he just committed to Clemson.
and the world keeps on spinning...not a big deal...moving on.
Tough loss. I think he will be very good in the next couple of years but on to the next one.

Writing was on the wall and I'm sure we will end up signing someone we aren't even talking about at wideout. Also, I honestly do not think either Kitt or Watson end up signing with Clemson. I live in SC and several friends think that Dabo is another loss to South Carolina + an "under achieving" season away from having a very hot seat and possibly getting the axe in the off season. Additionally, as has been mentioned here before Chad Morris is an HC candidate I think there is a good chance he leaves after this season. If Morris leaves or if it seems like he might, IMO Watson is gone and it could hav a trickle down on the rest of Clemson's class.
I'm willing to bet a dollar this is not the last we hear of Demarre Kitt.
Do you think we still have legitimate a shot? Or do you just think that his recruitment is not over and that we will be mentioned as a possible destination?
By the time he changes his mind(if he changes his mind) it could be too late.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Way to go out on a limb, Jeremy! I am willing to bet a dollar on this, too.
Let's hope he opens back up in January or February.
unfortunately, we'll have to wait until December when Clemson's OC leaves
exactly and, although I think watson and kitt are elite, I dont want to wait around for either of them or be in the position where we need to wait for them...plenty of other prospects out there that can help us win national championships, more concerned about them then 'wishful thinking' type of guys
You do realize we picked up 3 top level receiver/hybrid backs in the last 2 weeks before NSD this last year. The expectation that we have 20 players with 4 or 5 stars committed before the season starts is just not realistic and probably not even beneficial.
It actually does more harm than good to have your class pretty much full before they even play their senior seasons. There is still more evaluation that needs to be done for all committed prospects and for the tweakers.
A lot of time until NSD...
Jeremy, why do you say that? Just a gut feeling or is there more to it? Something you're hearing, etc.?
And no one is surprised. He clearly was a guy that Urban wanted, so we shouldn't downplay it. Just because we can assume we'll get another good recruit doesn't mean it doesn't make a difference.
I think its just not as damaging since there is already Lonnie Johnson and Jeff Greene is transferring with eligibility for 2014, same as a recruit. I just think that since those guys are on the team, it hurts less than if they weren't and Kitt going to Clemson.
Kitt is a super talent but with the cupboard not bare, it is not that bad.
Still would have liked him on the team.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
While I don't think it is like getting Calvin Johnson compared vs Davone Bess, there is a loss there which is exactly why Meyer and the staff focused more on him than some others. Saying "trust the staff" IMO has two connotations here, 1) that they will haul in a NC worthy talent class each year 2) there is a reason they focus on some recruits first and other second because they see a difference in potential. The more of their first rung guys they get the higher chances of success, so while I don't cry myself to sleep when we miss out on a first tier recruit, I do say "poop" before I start looking at who they target next.
Thanks, Steensn. I try to restrain myself and limit my vocabulary to "poop", as well.
Sooo clemson made his top 3 than lol haha he is a diva and loves the attention n i love following it this is far from over.
stark county football
I love it how kitt named a top2 of tennessee and Ohio State not even a month ago when everyone including him knew he was going to go Clemson with Watson.

Would've been a nice get. The other WR whose name starts with 'K' is the real priority imo. Even then, adding Green gives us some leeway. With or without our offense just scratched the surface last year.....think about that.
On the bright side, maybe this will help us with Trevion Thompson. That would certainly ease the pain of losing Kitt. I also agree with Jeremy that this is probably not the last we hear of Kitt either. He has a lot of time to change his mind, and maybe realize he shouldn't choose a school in large part due to another player going there (Watson). We'll see how Clemson does this year, and whether or not Morris leaves for a Head coaching gig. That could certainly throw a wrench in things.
If he sticks with Clemson, good luck to him. I think he will be a great get for them or anyone for that matter. Was hoping he may surprise us and commit to OSU.
But remember last year when Oregon lost Chip Kelly - and all of their recruits wanted to take visits (many of them to OSU)? And we got lucky enough to get Dontre Wilson (who is going to be a HELL of a player here btw! - so excited to see him in our offense) to commit when the Oregon situation got shaky. Yep, I remember that too. Good times.
All I'm saying is recruiting is so fluid - so if Clemson struggles - and Dabo leaves and/or Morris bolts for a HC opportunity elsewhere, you can bet Urban will be ready and OSU "might" start looking really great again to a Demarre Kitt or a DeShaun Watson. This just doesn't go for Clemson or just for OSU - it happens everywhere around the country.
NLOID is when it counts - I think Buckeye fans have seen both ends of that spectrum in recent years. Recruiting never stops...

If Watson leaves, Kitt will follow IMO
To OSU :)
I agree and I always thought that they were a package deal anyway.
Good luck to the young man. And now we have Clemson fans on Twitter saying Raekwon McMillan is next for them.
Kitt to Clemson?
I'm guessing him and Hasselhoff were a package deal...
Exactly my thoughts. Did the Hoff drive Kitt to Death Valley for his u.v., or did Kitt drive himself?
We can probably assume that when Kitt took an u.v. to The Plains of Auburn, Kitt was at least reimbursed for gas mileage and expenses.
I'm just happy to be here
I wish I was surprised, but can't say I am really. He told Jeremy a couple of weeks ago that he was undecided -- but I think the fact that he scheduled his announcement the day Watson reaffirmed his commitment to Clemson, and then he messaged Clemson 2013 commit Kyrin Priester that same night with what Priester called "very good news" essentially told the story for us.
I'd be surprised if he was really undecided all this time -- probably just wanted his announcement to surprise people. Best of luck to him! Clemson is developing a nice offensive team, I can't be mad about it -- I'd rather he and players like Watson go to an ACC team than an SEC team, personally.
Now for the staff to focus on Kief, Blacknall and others! I've been curious for awhile to see whether Kitt's commitment to Clemson would factor into Trevion Thompson (has Clemson and OSU in his top 2 as well). Not sure if it will, but you never know! Jeremy -- if you see this -- what do you think about Trevion Thompson? Locked into Clemson, or still a possibility with him for OSU? Haven't heard news on him in a while.
The fact that Clemson suddenly has so much momentum (and is Raekwon McMillan's #2) does worry me a little with McMillan, though. Clemson is closer to home, now has one of his friends in Kitt (along with a managerie of other Georgians), etc. If OSU maintains their place as McMillan's number 1 through all of this and eventually gets his commitment, you have to give our staff huge credit for managing that. It'd be a feat on the level of their pulling Bell last year. They're definitely good enough to do it.
I was just glad to see that he picked Clemson. My Auburn buddy was real sure he was going to go to Auburn. Kept telling him that if he didnt commit to Ohio St. that he was gonna commit to Clemson.
