The rich get richer with Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes adding number seven to the class of 2014 in the form of 4-star LB Kyle Berger. See what else went down on a busy recruiting Monday.
After a busy recruiting weekend that started off with 2014 Cincinnati Moeller safety Sam Hubbard picking Ohio State over Michigan , Michigan State, Stanford and others. Monday the good news kept rolling in, fellow 2014 defensive stud Kyle Berger finally ended his recruitment by committing to the Buckeyes yesterday afternoon. The Cleveland St. Ignatius linebacker finished last season with over 100 tackles and 10 sacks leading the Wildcats to the state championship game. The 6-3 210 pound Berger is no stranger to Columbus, as he made numerous unofficial visits before deciding to rock the scarlet and grey over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Tennessee as well as a gang of other BCS conference programs. Berger should have no problem fitting in with his soon to be teammates; Kyle is already good friends with current Buckeye players Blake Thomas, who happens to be an ex-high school teammate, and defensive tackle Tommy Schutt. You can get a feel for what the Buckeyes can expect out of Berger in these highlights.
Football recruiting | Bunting enjoys visit to Oregon (chicago tribune)
Hinsdale Central junior tight end Ian Bunting was green with envy over the weekend after taking a visit to Oregon.
"I loved it," Bunting said. "The staff at Oregon is a great group and the campus was beautiful. Everything is so green and the buildings are very modern.
"Some people think that Oregon is just about flashy uniforms, but after visiting I can see that it's the people behind the operation at Oregon that make that football program and school so great."
Bunting said a school's location won't have a huge impact on his decision.
"As far as distance, that isn't the biggest factor," he said. "No matter if I'm an hour away or 10 hours away, I'm not going to be home much. My sister goes to Missouri and doesn't play a sport, and she's never home either. "
