Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 3/22 - Kyle Berger update (lghl)
Urban Meyer dished out a couple of new offers Thursday and 2014 linebacker Kyle Berger breaks down what he is looking forward to seeing during his forthcoming weekend visit to Columbus.
One of the visitors the Buckeyes will have on campus this weekend is All-Ohio linebacker Kyle Berger of Cleveland St. Ignatius. The 6-3 205 pound Berger is no stranger to Columbus; he has already been on numerous trips to Ohio State which led to him getting acquainted with a few names you might have heard of. "I have a great relationship with Coach Fickell, as well as being good friends with [ex-teammate] Blake Thomas and Tommy Schutt," Berger told Land-Grant Holy Land. Even though Kyle loves the winning mentality Coach Meyer brings to the table, he can't wait to see the staff up close and personal during practice. "I'm really excited to see the coaches in action".
Racking up an impressive 10 sacks last season, Berger's play was a key reason why St. Ignatius made it all the way to the state title game. The Buckeyes might have been one of the first to offer Kyle but many soon followed: Arkansas, Michigan, Michigan State and Tennessee are just some of the teams to offer Berger a full ride. With tons of coaches trying to land the services of Berger, this weekend, he wants to try to get a better feel for Ohio State. "Seeing spring practices and watching the coaches will be a big part of my decision making," Kyle said. "I'm looking to see if I am able to picture myself at these practices in a few years and if I can see myself being coached by these coaches, so I'm really excited for this visit".

As always, thanks for the daily dose of Quick Bits. I hope Berger is a Buckeye and believe his watching a practice can only be a good thing for OSU. Go Bucks!
LMAO!!!! Peppers said "wolverine dynasty"?? When was there ever a "wolverine dynasty"??
"GIMMIE THAT BEAT FOOL!!! IT'S A FULL TIME JACK MOVE" Ice Cube jack for beats..

well maybe dynasty isn't the word he should have used. but like them or not, as far as tradition goes, they're still up there among the elite in the nation, and brady hoke has them trending in a positive direction for the first time in awhile.
peppers doesn't seem that high on michigan though. when he talked about them, he didn't mention relationships, or records, but something to the effect of 'something about them is keeping them in my favorites list' referring to their tradition. since he has yet to establish a good relationship with any of michigan's coaches (not sure who his primary recruiter is), i think his unofficial there will be huge for them to stay anywhere near the top of his list.
he is stanford or osu bound, IMO. if distance isn't that huge a factor for him, likely stanford. they're playing great football right now, and very few schools in the country can even come close academically. plus, stanford's campus has a good atmosphere, and it/palo alto are really beautiful areas
Berger has a lot of room for development. Good wing span, but the lower body looks more lengthy than his upper body. I don't get the feeling he has thick shoulders....something that will need to get developed in the college weight room. Good prospect for you guys if you can land him. May need a couple of years before being ready to really get at it on the field at the college level.
based on the LB hauls by both michigan and osu in the last few years....berger will have time to develop at either. i'd think both coaching staffs would almost automatically redshirt him. would be even better if he could enroll early at his chosen school, but i don't know if that's a possibility for him. some schools don't allow it
