Ohio State offered Cincinnati Moeller 2014 ATH Sam Hubbard this morning. The 6-6/225 Hubbard plays safety for Moeller, but currently is a Notre Dame lacrosse commit.
It looks like football will be in his future though, as he adds the OSU offer to that of Stanford, Louisville, Illinois, Boston College, Ohio, and Miami (OH), with many more to come. I think right now the biggest threats to Ohio State would be Stanford and Notre Dame, if they offer for football.
Hubbard told me this morning that the Bucks are recruiting him as an athlete with OLB, S, or TE in mind, depending on what kind of weight they want to put on him. He said he is "very interested" in playing for Urban Meyer's team and "will be visiting again soon".
You can see Hubbard's junior highlights here (video dated 9/4/12).

You would think playing safety currently at that size he would be ideal for the star position
I just like all of these guys who are capable of playing multiple positions. It gives you so much more flexibility in recruiting and on the depth chart if you have a guy who can fit in a couple different places on the field.
Another impressive, very athletic, fluid, big kid. Increasingly amazed at the size and athleticism of these kids.
Cant teach size, and holy cow does this kid have it.

Very big boy!! Can't believe he's 6'6 playing safety, wow!! Thought it was a typo until I looked on 247 at his bio.
SCOTTC.
A 6'6" safety? That would be a sight to behold. Like that one hockey player that is 6'9" that plays for the Bruins. Just don't see that kind of height at that position but I want this kid in scarlet and grey
Very bright kid, Stanford will be tough to beat here, and they have offered
He's a nationally ranked lacrosse player and had originally committed to ND last year. I don't know if he's as interested in their football program but I think they would have at least some advantage.
Very athletic for a kid his size...I see him making more of an impact as a DE/OLB on the college level. He'd probably be a pretty good TE as well...I hope he commits to the Buckeyes!
Always glad to see Ohio kids get offers from The Ohio State University. I do believe Ohio kids play with a sense of pride and toughness that doesn't so much need to be taught. It's part of our state culture when it comes to football. Now, I am in no way discouraging out-of-state offers and commitments. (Eddie George will always be one of my favorite Buckeyes of all time.) All I am saying is as someone from Ohio, it's awesome to see kids from my state playing for my university.
Hubbard told Allen Trieu of Scout.com that the Buckeye offer is "the one he's been waiting for" so hopefully that means he will come our way. Very impressed with this kid.
Maybe DE or OLB could be a pass rusher. He might be fast then quick

With that size I would love to see him at TE or DE. He would be a project, but you can't teach size.
