I have been saying for a while now that he's my choice at QB if we don't land Watson.
I mentioned in another forum a few weeks ago that I would take Kizer over Barker. I still stand by that. I don't really know much about Henderson, but I think Kizer can and will get better. Barker still worries me playing in Northern Kentucky.
Watson is the clear top choice, but Kizer is not one to write-off at this stage of the game. His recruitment may get interesting this summer once some of the higher rated QB's are off the board.
i have seen him play 2-3 times last year and was not impressed. I think we can do alot better.

Correct, Hayze. You usually tend to "reach" a bit more on kids from your state or region. When you go outside of your pipeline states, it's normally for elite talent. OSU is certainly operating that way right now.
Bama is on another tier than everyone else right now though, ha.
I know as a Nebraska fan I want Kizer as our QB. We need to have a dual threat QB to run our offense. Can't have some flat footed slow moving snail as the QB no matter how accurate the passing is.

Well, Taylor Martinez isn't exactly a beacon of Quarterback accuracy. Career completion percentage of %59 and a 46-21 TD\INT ratio doesn't scream "Accurate QB".
So snide or not, he was really stating a fact-Nebraska's current QB isn't particularly accurate.

I am new to the website but what the heck would anyone not a Buckeye fanatic want to do with this website? I am a huge Buckeye fan and I have absolutely no interest to visit opposing teams websites? What am I missing?

I could understand creeping on other rival websites for shits and giggles but I think I would keep it on the down low and would not have a give away username. IMO
Some posters that are not OSU fans, such as M Man, Hail, and etc. are pretty rational dudes who don't troll and can some add some insight from the Dark Side to things around here. They also are good sports and take jokes and whatnot in stride.

It doesn't seem right for Bama to be offering the same QBs as Ohio St. considering their offense is a different style. OSU gets mobile (dual threat) qbs and bama gets pocket passers (pro). After all the trash Saban talks of spread offenses (out of fear?) is he trying to join the ranks?

I was thinking the same thing. I believe Bama is offering in hopes of keeping Kizer from ending up at OSU. LSU on the other hand runs somewhat of a spread and he could be successful in their offense.
Alabama offered a pro style QB today as well. So I think the assumptions being had here are correct.
Talked to a couple of buddies of mine and they are saying that there is NO WAY that this is a committable offer and that it's "Saban being Saban"...

Saban sees Urban as a threat, he is going to mess in OSUs back yard this year.
While I agree with everyone else who believe it's a non-committable offer, Kizer is a very good, underrated QB, and the offer could become very committable in the near future.
All of the QBs at the top of the OSU board, Watson, Barker, Henderson, Allen, Kizer and Ulmer are continuing to get more and more offers and I personally feel that all of these guys, with the exception of Ulmer, will be off the table by the time OSU comes around and offers more QBs. While I can't find any information to verify this, that's probably why Henderson cancelled his visit last week b/c he knew that he wasn't going to get an offer, at least not yet. And I've also heard that Henderson is becoming less and less interested in OSU.
They need to get off the Watson bandwagon and start offering a couple of these QBs or it's going to come back and bite them in the ass.
I trust that the coaching staff isn't on a bandwagon and that they know what they're doing. They know much more than we do.
We all trust the OSU staff, but all opinions are represented on this site and some feel that the staff should move on to other QB's. I'm not a big fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, but I think the staff will end up with a good QB. I want either Waton, Barker, or Henderson. If we don't get one of those guys I will be disappointed, but I don't think it will hurt our chances of a national title in the next few years. I believe it will put us in a desperate situation for a 2015 QB, but don't think it is extremely crucial for this year.
Oh I understand the opinion, mine is just that we see less than half of what goes on, and I'm not sure the coaching staff should feel the "need" to do anything.
If we miss on a QB this year and next, I would then consider desperation. JT Barrett is going to have the QB spot nailed down for a few years. Missing out on the names above (and Kizer) would be a disappointment, but not a cause for panic. I would even throw out Jalin Marshall as an available QB down the road if needed (at least in certain packages).
No way we don't get a quality QB in this class. Absolutely won't happen. This isn't a punter we're talking about haha.
Urban knows Braxton is a senior in 2014 with Cardale Jones and JT Barrett behind him. At this moment, neither of those guys are proven at the college level so he needs to recruit his pants off to bring in the best possible talent he can get to compete with them for the starting job once Miller is gone.

I know a family that is good friends with the Kizers. Last I checked they said Kizer had offers form everyone in BIG except OSU/scUM. I'm pretty sure he's thinking Big Ten right now. I'll check with them again and hopefully they will have some news.
I think it is important to have a great QB in every class. Brax may be gone after this year if he tears it up, as many are expecting him to (SI cover, anyone?) Training the next generation is critical, and keeping the pipeline stocked is important.

Couldn't agree more. I have no idea who would downvote this. He has questionable mechanics and zero accuracy. Love the guy, but he's an NFL receiver and there's no chance he leaves after his junior year.
The non committable scholarship offer is such a strange thing. It's like a girl asking you to go steady only she doesn't want to be seen with you in public and you can't tell anyone about it. To me a scholarship offer means a school wants you to play for their school not that they want you to wait around until everyone else on their board passes and then you can commit. Recruiting sites need to come up with a new term that labels recruits with those kind of offers.

That said, while the idea of the non-committable drives me crazy (your analogy was actually pretty good), I understand why teams do it.. Consider this: in the modern era, commitment doesn't mean 100% committed, necessarily. Urban says it means you're in the top 3 for the recruit.
So, if recruits can commit and not really "mean it," it's only fair that schools should be able to do the same.

Saban's f#$king with Urban...I'd say this makes the Vonn Bell acquisition a bit more of a sting than many of us thought for Bama and I'm sure Tenn. Watch for both these programs to go after OSU targets all year long as well as future recruits too. This is personal now for these aforementioned colleges as well as Wiscy, TTUN, and MSU...it's going to happen. We flipped kids....now they're going to try to flip/steal our recruits. It's on folks!
